I take it you've never seen gay man, who mince, making their way to the cruising area of Hampstead Heath because they do exist. That aside it was a joke, as I'm sure the majority of people recognised.

"Does it really matter anyway?" I agree 100%

"Does it really matter anyway?" of course it matters, particularly for young LGBTQ football fans who would probably feel more comfortable and reassured that their favourite sport is not a hostile and unwelcoming place. Just because you don't need to see those visible role models, try thinking about other people for once. This attitude of "well it makes no difference to me so why would it matter to anyone else" is such a selfish and self absorbed attitude. People can't ever have empathy or think about things from any perspective but their own. Football is seen still as a homophobic sport, with a fan base that only backs that up.

"Wonder who they are https://www.thesun.ie/sport/football/9721202/two-premier-league-teammates-gay-relationship/" I've dated three pro footballers. It's very likely quite common. It's also none of our business really.

"Raheem Sterling has to be one, have you seen the way he runs He minces like someone on his way to Hampstead Heath." Yes, sashaying out of the tube and swinging his hips in a crushed velvet two piece with silk shirt. His hat at a jaunty angle and a man bag draped from his shoulder. Is it still 1976? Are you living in the Dick Emery show?

How often have you heard any homophonic abuse at a football match ??. I'm full time trans and a season ticket holder at my local club (Oxford United). I have only once had any form of abuse at football and that's in about 15 years and been treated exceptly by fans and officials of many clubs. So,in my experience, your comments about a homophonic fan base are wildly inaccurate.

"It’s defo not anyone’s business but there’s ? They didn’t sign up to be role models for anyone’s private lives, they signed up to be footballers. I’ve had fun a few times with an ex premier player and would never ever even hint at his name or anything. He is quite happy living his life the way he lives it and why not " It was Adam Johnson wasn’t it

"Clearly there is blatant homophobia in football . Is there wasn't there would be footballers that would quite happily come out as gay, rather fearing the abuse and ridicule they would face on the pitch " So myself a trans woman and a gay man(in this thread) have both stated that we don't hear all this homophobia you speak about. Where does it happen ??

"I can think of two England Captains who were/are Gay/Bi...former Liverpool Captain who issued one of them secret bans who was arrested in a Police raid on unlicensed sex club tht was holding a bi/TV day " That's of concern, that police who say they lack the resources to investigate many crimes, are taking it upon themselves to interfere in the behind-doors recreational activities of consenting adults. Which sex club?

They were raging when one of their favourite pubs, which had closed, was then bought by Pipeworks gay sauna.

"It's well documented as homophobic as well as racist. The last true bastion of the knuckle draggers." How many games do you go to in a season to make this sweeping statement. It has about as much basis in the truth as saying all gay men are effeminate. Yes there are racists and homophobes at games, but there are the same people in any workplace or leisure facility anywhere. Also people aren’t afraid of calling out racism or homophobia inside grounds these days, and perpetrators are at least ejected from the ground and often banned and/or prosecuted. There were around 250,000 people at just premier league games today. You show me any collection of that many people anywhere, and you can almost guarantee there will be someone with extreme views in there. Football supporters are no worse than anyone else on the whole, it’s just the mass media that point out the few idiots that lead to people believing that all football fans are like that. And back to calm lol
