remember Raise The Titanic? was made before they’d actually found the wreck, didn’t realised it had snapped in two before sinking.

It’s quite a nostalgic one for me, will probably watch it in the next day or so.

It cost so much to make the film studio said it would have been cheaper to lower the Atlantic!

The was one I remember as a kid, don't know the name and not 100% sure it was a disaster movie(could be hammer house) but a guy in hospital could predict/cause disasters one being the windscale fire in the nuclear pile inside the reactor.

Was also one called roller coaster (think that's what it was called).

Beautiful use of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde; music appropriately laden with forbidden love and a love triangle.

Yes, made before wreck was found but still rather naive of the filmmakers to think Titanic would just be laying on the ocean floor with a hole in the side and minus a funnel.

The World, The Flesh and The Devil. It was a post nuclear film set in (I think) New York. A very long time since I saw it lol. But the most recent disaster movie that surpasses all others is surely the coverage and outcome of last year's US presidential election.

My favourite remains The Towering Inferno (as my school library, inexplicably, had BOTH of the books it was based on, and I'd read them). But I did go to see The Poseidon Adventure* on my own in the school hols between primary school and grammar school - several times - and was bemused by "And Leslie Nielsen as The Captain" Ohh, if I'd knew then what I know now.

I did spend extra to go and see Earthquake in "Sensuround" and even then in my uncritical years felt they'd spent more on the effects than the script.

* I thought the remake was more realistic in how people died (like being electrocuted by the water) but otherwise: not a patch.
