They have to give him a fair trial as it goes against his human rights if they don't.

No one has convicted him of anything and apart from the escape, details of the facts surrounding his case are not in the public domain.

Once the case reaches trial, and assuming he doesn't plead guilty, the jury will be warned to consider their verdict on evidence alone.

Is it just possible he is a fantasist?. A terrorist planting a fake bomb?. Why?. dont they plant real ones?. Was he in a Cat B prison because the authorities think he is a crank?.and no real threat. He was actually boasting he was going to escape, not your average terrorist would do that. A lot of questions need to be asked i think.

I've been thinking this too.

He was caught riding a bike along the towpath and laughed.

He's an idiot.

Needs to be locked up for his own good and given mental help.

I think that there is much to be done and I would suggest we start with the removal of televisions and telephones in cells, compulsory labour such as mailbag sewing, more closed visits and making sure people are a long way from home. Getting rid of the expensive private prisons would be a good start too.

A fair trial , just like Megrahi, the only man convicted of the Lockerbie bombing. The judge and prosecution cherrypicked the best bits of evidence to find him guilty, leaving out other pieces of evidence that would have rendered his conviction unsafe.

Even Dr Jim Squire whose daughter died in the disaster believed Megrahi was innocent

Ti's guy should be a national treasure. What a superb adventure he had while he escaped, Touring many shops and stores, a wee bit of shoplifting here and there and changing his clothes from long to shorts in McDonalds toilet and by the way quite a sexy boy.

His method of escape was brilliant, dangerous and could have been deadly, equalled anything from the Great Escape film

As yet it is to be proved whether he is guilty of spying for Iran but the establishment have him down as guilty as he'll

That's because he was in prison awaiting trial, you know the prison he escaped from.

You probably fancied the Manchester bomber who know doubt in your eyes is also innocent as no one alive saw him detonate the bomb.

If British justice is not quite to your taste why don't you try Iran?

For anyone that believes that there is such thing as a fair trial have never found themselves being tried in a court. The whole system is BS and nothing fair about it. FFS, you're not even allowed to present your own case or cross examine the "witnesses" yourself

There's also meant to be this thing of innocent until proven guilty, so why do so many people get held on remand? A good proportion of which go to trial and later found not guilty.

On top of that, how many people have wrongly been convicted... Served years in prison to later be cleared because of "new" DNA evidence etc

What a load of crap, we have one of the fairest justice systems in the world which, if anything, is heavily weighted in favour of the alleged criminal.

With regards to people being remanded in custody awaiting trial, this doesn't happen without very good reason. The decision can only be made if there are there are substantial grounds to believe that:

They will not come back to court for trial and/or

They will commit an offence and/or

They will interfere with witnesses or obstruct the course of the case etc.
