Muay Thai is great. Love the sharpness of the movements, also super elegant and dynamic. Extraordinary cardio workout too.

The movements are developed to be brutal and quite aggressive. Never practiced it in a real fight, but I reckon I could take an opponent with just two precise strikes, or even one if I am focused enough

I've been thinking about trying jiu jitsu but not taken the plunge yet. I did judo as a kid but not for long.

I've done boxing and 6 different martial arts.

Of them all I'd choose Brazilian jiu jitsu

It depends on what you’re doing it for….

Is it for fitness?

Is it to have a hobby?

Is it to fight - competitively or know what to do should you find yourself in a situation?

I would recommend looking at all the clubs local to you. See which club you like and go down and watch them - the 1st lesson is usually free in most clubs if you want to join in. Bearing in mind, each club will want you joining them and each art has its own ways and systems of control, restraint, throws, strikes, etc.

Don’t be to quick to join, go around a few, look at the training style, method and the art form too. A lot of clubs mix different styles (MMA), this can be great, however if your wanting to learn an art, such as Karate, Aikido, Ju Jitsu just attend those. Ask questions. That all said it’s up to you!

I grew up on Shotokan karate, moved on to Muay Thai and also joined a club which did a bit of everything, including combatives, street defence and grappling.

Sadly the club closed a few years back and I've not found anything local worth doing since. I'm

not prepared to pay for a club with only 1 hour a week tuition, that still holds gradings every three months - gradings are largely bullshit anyway, and I refused to do them as an adult. Not interested in a bit of colour around my waist when it doesnt mean anything.

Like to hear of guys martial arts journey...the guys who trained with me were hot as well.

It was a bit too risky to try anything on though.
