I met someone of here who lived on a narrowboat. I was working away and made an excuse not to go out with colleagues. Had to find the boat on the towpath in the dark, it was winter. About 25 years ago I was contacted on another site by a guy in Cheshire (I think it was down Nantwich way and I can’t remember where exactly). We arranged to meet in a car park near a canal. To my surprise he took me to a narrow boat moored nearby. He had advertised as a “dom”, which turned me on at the time as I’d never been in that situation with a bloke.
