Just like some help here. Has anyone here been circumcised as an adult? My foreskin is uncut and I am getting a bit of soreness on my knob that stings when I ejaculate. Doc says cream first but proper cure is circumcision. She's left me to research, give it some thought and decide if I want an op.

The thought disturbs me like finger nails down a blackboard so any experiences recounted would be gratefully received.

Thanks.

I've been told it takes a few weeks to heal and limits what you can do for a while. I have an active life so this bothers me. Your Dr is wrong to go with the cream though. They had me on a cream which was working then some genius deicded it's not good for cocks. They never gave me a different cream and the problem got worse. I'm once again waiting for an appointment coz the the original surgery never happened coz the urologist is a fucking idiot. I can pull my foreskin back when soft but not when hard. Some guys get put off but a few guys assumed it's already cut

I can’t pull my foreskin back even when soft. The Dr gave me some cream and said it’s better than being circumcised as that is painful, it worked for a while. I went back and seen another Dr (both male Dr’s) he gave me a different cream he said it would work better than the first lot I had but he recommended being circumcised. I said the last Dr said it would hurt and he said for a couple of days but it hurts when you try and pull it back now so what’s to lose. I went and seen the urologist who agreed that I need it done I am now on the waiting list. I don’t like to meet because I don’t think the other man would like not being able to pull it back although I can still shoot a load.

Oh come on, it isn't that bad, I bet it's no worse than any other operation. I had mine done when I was five and remember it like yesterday, sore for a couple weeks but I'm so glad it was done. Since then the NHS has installed a penile implant installing tubes down my shaft, a pump and tubes in my scrotum and a reservoir in my tummy. I was black as black cock, balls, full of stitches. I couldnt walk properly for weeks and my first couple weeks I used a wheelchair for followups. It took 12 months before it felt part of my body and 18 months for most of the penile implant operation pain to go. I was unlucky, some guys get back to normal quicky. Well it turns out my implant operation was bodged so I'm going under the knife again to correct the issues. Although, that has taken several discussions over a long period of time with the consultants and a lot of thinking time before I agreed to go back under the knife again. So think yourself lucky, there are worse operations you can have.

I was circumcised in my late 40’s for same reason (done via GUM clinic not GP) was done as a day patient, no pain, dissolvable stitches, had 1st wank afterwards in week 3. Tbh only once painful when woke up in morning with a growing hard on but once it started pulling on the stitches the body over-ride the morning woof and it subsided. I had it done on a Thursday and was back at work on the Monday. I preferred to wear tight briefs to keep things in place rather than baggy boxers that allow plenty of movement down there. I say lost a bit of length when hard about 1/2 inch and now need to lube up for a wank (but like that anyway).

There may be a few things to try if you are reluctant to get cut:

Inflammation and tightness of the foreskin can be associated with insulin resistance/T2 diabetes. A low carbohydrate diet may improve it.

Imbalance of the health skin flora can also be caused by use of soap or anti sceptic creams. Try washing under the foreskin with water only to see if it improves.

Good luck however you decide to proceed.

I got circumcised at age 23. It was a bit sore but nothing that a few ibuprofen couldn't deal with. The worst times were night time boners and morning glory.

I went on an activity holiday 4 days after the surgery and was swimming and rock climbing without any issues. With the use of a thin bandage and a condom to protect the stitches I managed to have sex on day 5 after surgery (it hurt but I couldn't resist). It was all fully healed within 2 weeks.

I have not had any loss of sensation, just enjoyable, pain free sex.

Got circumcised at 25, it was not a big drama, much easier than I thought. So glad I got cut and partners have loved it. My advice to any guy is go for it. Best thing I ever did. Happy to answer any questions.

Been thinking about it. 35 I can pull back when soft no issues but when hard it’s impossible to pull it back more than half way.

Circumcised at 25 for a very tight and scarred foreskin that would barely retract even when soft and would tear if I tried to retract it when erect.

It is possible to have it done under local anaesthetic but I had a general anaesthetic. A penile block (injection of local anaesthetic at the base of the penis) means you are comfortable when you wake up. They use dissolvable stitches don't need removing, they just break down on their own. Regular paracetamol and ibuprofen keeps on top of the pain. I found that 'sandwiching' the suture line between two dressing was the most effective method to keep it from being disrupted.

First sex was about 10 afterwards, I remember oral feeling ASTOUNDINGLY good. I have not had much in the way of reduced sensation, but everyone is different. If it is indicated for you then I would genuinely have no concerns about getting it done.

norwich - ish

I was cut at about 50 for very similar reasons to yourself.

Yes it hurts a bit straight after the operation but that is manageable with paracetamol and something stronger if need be. Hardest part is not getting hard for a couple of weeks while it heals, lol

You have to learn new way to wank and watch for stay streams when pissing.

My wife says it feels nicer for her for sex. And starts off very sensitive so cum quicker. But then gets less sensitive so last longer,

Have suffered from phimosis off and on for a few years and have usually been able to sort it with steroid cream. But the cream now is having no effect so I’m off to the doctor again and I suspect he may suggest the operation.

My worry is I’m not very big anyway, particularly when flaccid, so will I look even smaller if I am circumcised?

I got circumcised in my 40s. Had it done as a day surgery patient no pain whatsoever, a bit uncomfortable but as soon as the stitches dissolved all ready to go. Wish I’d had it done sooner

Same here. Had it done privately in London. Bit of discomfort to begin with and first cut wank (few days later) was out of this world. Again, I wished I had gone for it sooner!

Update:

After waiting over a year I had my circumcision yesterday. I was awake and they used local anaesthetic, it wasn’t painful and took around 30 minutes I was allowed home an hour and half later. Up to now I have not taken any pain killers. It is still bandaged (you can pee as normal) without getting it wet, I am going to have a shower later so I will soak the dressing and carefully remove it. The only problem is having a piss it comes out faster and you don’t know where it’s going 🤣 so without sounding crude I am peeing in the sink I can control that better, I think when the dressing is removed it should be better but I will get used to it. I am in my 60’s and I am so glad I have had it done, I should have done it years ago. I really hope my comments help anybody who is not sure, cheers everyone

I was circumcised on 11 Sept, so only 2 months ago. I tore my 4skin which caused scar tissue which resulted in phimosis. I spent 6+ months on steroid cream before admitting defeat and opting for circumcision. NHS list in my area was long, so I paid to go private. I unfortunately had a local but it wasn't enough and I felt some of the cutting and had to shout out for more. I also had a nasty bleed and also lost my frenulum. I was very badly swollen and bruised and ended up in A&E 2 times during my recovery. No sex/wanks for 4-6 weeks minimum for me .

BUT, I'm through the other side and I'm much better. So glad I had it done. The only thing I'd do differently is get a tighter cut, but I'll probably do a revision but told to wait at least a year before attempting it.

Update:

I was circumcised 5 weeks ago today. It has more or less healed now, I am just looking for someone to try it out. I didn’t hurt and I never needed any pain killers, although I did get a post op infection but my GP gave me a course of antibiotics. So I really would recommend having it done if you need too, good luck everyone
