"Is there any reason why no charges being brought against anyone until 2026?"

Because it has to be investigated by the police now, they has to wait till after the enquiry.

Grenfell Inquiry. Blood Products Inquiry. COVID Inquiry. Post Office Inquiry. Hillsborough Inquiry. People in positions of public authority and trust letting those who rely on them (and society) down. These long drawn out inquirys cost hundreds of millions of pounds and take decades, but things that are supposedly 'learnt' are often never implemented...until the next scandal where senior politicians appear on TV saying, calling for an immediate public inquiry and promising "lessons must be learnt".

Mrs May knew what she was doing when she announced an inquiry - by the time it concluded, the guilty would be long gone from the scene.

As of July this year, out of the 4,630 buildings over 11 metres high and identified as having flammable cladding, 50% of these buildings have not had any work at all started to remove it.

Most care on a superficial level.

The concerts and so on were nauseating. I guess it acted as a good distraction, though, from all the fraud that went on with people faking claims that they lived there and needed some of the free stuff that was on offer.

It'll be a memorial of some sort, nobody would want to live on that site.

Yes - Post WW2 London & other UK cities were littered with tumbledown buildings and bombsites. They were redeveloped and re-occupied.

Many of us live atop the foundations of previous tragedies throughout history.

Life goes on

For context - The Great Fire of London was a devastating fire that burned through central London from September 2–6, 1666. It destroyed over 13,000 homes, 87 churches, and St. Paul's Cathedral, leaving almost 85% of London's population

In the 1970s and early 80s there was a housing surplus. More homes than we needed. Imagine that now
