I have both metal and plastic ones. I’m wearing plastic for Loctober because I find them much more comfortable for long-term wear. Metal ones are, obviously, much heavier so you are constantly aware of your confinement.

My recommendation would be to start with a plastic one and initially wear it for a short time, increasing the time once you are used to it. Don’t buy the cheapest, they often have rough and uncomfortable edges, go for mid price range to start with.

Cock cages come in a variety of sizes, just look on eBay. As you declare on your profile that you have a small cock you should be able to find something that suits your needs. Normally though, cages are used to make erections impossible.

Plastic is the better option to me, I always found the metal ones caused sore bits from rubbing, they’re heavier and not as comfy.

Here are a couple things you should think about when caging your dick long-term. I have been told that you should ejeculate regularly for good prostate health. Google indicated that it doesn't seem conclusive. I think personally ejeculation is good for your mental health anyway.

The other thing the hospital told me when I lost my erections was to use a penis pump regularly to maintain my length because you do lose length if you do not have regular full erections. I went on to have surgery penile implant.
