We're a quarter of the way into the season so plenty of time to go. I thought Newcastle were very organised today and deserved their win, Arsenal will bounce though. City losing to Bournemouth was a bigger surprise.

Two interesting games tomorrow, Spurs v Villa and Man Utd v Chelsea.

Neither me , I looked at the statistic and put a question mark if it was the case.

Possession

City 65 % Bournmouth 35 %

Corners Portsmouth 3 City 10

Clearances in defences Portsmouth 36 City 8

"Cracking day for Liverpool "

Certainly was, I caught the end of the the Newcastle game in The Kop Bar, then into the ground. Thefirst half was lousy and a very subdued atmosphere. Second half saw team & crowd perk up, great winner from Mo. Hopefully we can get to Xmas and still be in the race.

Arsenal were insipid to say the least yesterday. Got their work cut out now to stay in contention.

Liverpool are winning games without sweeping teams aside which is ominous.

Liverpool fan.

I think Trent and Szoboszlai are both in a poor vain of form, but the team still find a way.

It's hard to pin down what Slott has changed, but there is a tougher mentality.

I still think injuries will have a big say this year, so no bets at the moment.

Good win today, 3 points away is great. Far more than I hoped for. Played well, especially in the 2nd half.

Unbeaten in 4 is a good run and out of the bottom 3 is a great psychological boost.

And just to get in the United v City debate, I’ve been watching Wolves since the late 60s when I was only 3 or 4. Until about 2010, facing City was never really a major worry. There was a time in the 70s when they had a decent side, but not really much better or worse than us. However, United have pretty much always had a good team, good to watch and difficult to beat. For me United are the team from Manchester that I always want my team to reach the levels of, even though recently City have had better players.

I don't place too much emphasis on the Liverpool City game.

There are quite a few teams in the Prem who can cause an upset against the top teams.

There are more twists and turns to come.

In my view, the Premier League is all the better for being a tough league.

It looks like Maresca has found a very workable first and 'nearly' first team , so essentially two teams from the large squad.I am just intrigued to see how it all pans out now for Chelsea, after the new year will be very revealing I think.

Will Pep be Citeh Manager going into next season? Must be a chance he won't now.

Citeh's implosion shows that you can never take anything for granted in football. Their lack of a leader on the park in the mold of a Vincent Kompany is also costing them big-time now. It's a crisis for sure they now find themselves in.

They're definitely missing Rodri since Arsenal booted him off the park for the rest of the season.

City's drop in form is reminiscent of Liverpool's a couple of years ago.

It only takes a few midfielders to lose a bit of pace and the dynamic changes, especially when the press is a big part of the way they play.

You could see it with Henderson and Fabinho.

City still have an embarrassment of riches, and owners with deep pockets. They will return.

United will get better, inevitably with a good manager.

City need a rebuild. They have finally ran out of steam. Surprised Pep signed the new deal.

The Reds have a manager who has solidified the defence in comparison to Klopp. They look more cohesive as a unit. But all it takes is a VVD injury and we are in trouble.

Arsenal could still certainly win the title. Saka is in phenomenal form. Class player.

I think all of this 'wear it don't wear it' should be down to personal choice. Look at the Jordan Henderson hypocrisy it's better to be an honest advocate than a coerced one if that is what is happening. Mx

They are gonna take some catching. Arsenal are a bit unlucky not to be closer bearing in mind they should have beat Citeh, Chelsea and Liverpool rather than draw each time.

I watched Tottenham v Chelsea , honestly what are those players in Tottenham doing during the game ?? Tons of mistakes in passes , then the gift of two goals in the penalties , hardly any amateur player would do that kind of stupid fouls they did in front of the goals,,, to lose a 2-0 up match was a gift to Chelsea . Their manager doesn’t have a clue what’s the best arrange .. I guess they will sack him .. what was strange that a key player like Maddison comes to game after 4-2 behind .. really ? Sitting him on bench for 80 minutes

I'm not a great fan of the current culture, constant speculation about whether someone is going to be sacked or not.

Much of this is led by the press with their constant need to justify their own existence. Instead of reporting on events, they seem to think it's their job to actually create and drive such stories.

Last Monday it was 'El Sackio' between the Wolves and West Ham managers, they just have no respect. Without googling, I expect that Wayne Rooney is getting the same treatment.

Why sack him if he loses an away game in a minor European Cup Kandi or is it just because he was so successful as Celtic manager as Brendan Rodgers was (and is again) at beating your team Rangers in Scotland and you just can't take it. Very immature comment unless you back this up with proper facts and analysis IMHO.

Very much agree with this it just seems to be about making headlines and stirring the pot to get interesting stories for newspapers, no credence is given to players being injured or off form and the team being weakened by these important factors also.

He has lost many of the fans. Listen to talksport. Look online. Spurs getting beat by Rangers considering the £700 million gulf in squad worth is like getting beaten by a Championship/League One side. He knows his side have huge problems coping defensively/ at set pieces but openly doesnt care about the fact. What do a huge club like Spurs with one of the best stadiums in the world have to do with an insignificant former club of Anges?

He is already under pressure, the bookies favourite to get sacked and received the dreaded 'vote of confidence' from the board. He has dragged Spurs down to the bottom half of the table. He loses tonight and v Southampton good chance he is gone.
