"Useful to know.

Yes - just. It’s right by the ring road so if you can park outside and walk in you will avoid the charge.

"Just looked at the website...how can it have customer reviews and historical statements from the venue, when it's opening today ???"

My guess would be that it has indeed already opened but the owners wanted to give it a few days/weeks with light use to fix any teething troubles before advertising it as officially open. That's what I would do.

As the owner you wouldn't, for example, want to find a shower has sprung a leak on the day of the grand opening. You'd rather find out in advance so you can get it sorted out.

I'm tempted, but the journey is a bit of a jaunt on public transport...plus the journey back.

Hopefully I'll try it one of the Saturdays.

I think it was an adult entertainment venue a while ago. The name sounds familiar

There used to be an adult cinema up the road many years ago. It is just outside the city centre and in a convenient location for me, I will give it a try but a sauna with no-one else there won't be much fun.

Leamington Spa

Visited today: at least, I TRIED to visit!

Easy to get to (it’s a ten minute walk from the Convention Centre ). As I got to the door, a guy who was leaving said to me: “ I wouldn’t bother, mate. There’s no one in there!” I should have listened to him…

Got to the counter and was greeted by a very pleasant young guy. I asked how much it was to get in and he reeled off the entrance fee ( a tenner, I think - bargain!) plus a quid for a towel and a ( refundable ) £10 if I wanted a locker. As I only had 20 quid in cash on me,I went to pay with a debit card BUT their card payment machine wasn’t working! The counter guy suggested that I make a money transfer to them: I didn’t want to do that, so…..

Maybe I’ll try them again some time when they’ve ironed out the teething problems. Maybe I’ll just go to The Greenhouse!

If everyine keeps doing that and thinking that way then there never will be anyone in there.

Greenhouse is a bit of a dump and needs to up their game now.

I agree with you that The Greenhouse needs to up their game. However, I wasn’t offering a review of my experiences at the Greenhouse.

People earlier in this thread had asked for reviews of the new place and this was mine.

Feel free to visit yourself and report back?

Lichfield

I went on the opening day, won’t be rushing back.

£5 entry (half price that day only) £10 deposit for a locker, £1 for a towel. Card machine not working, luckily I had cash on me. Manager said he’d show me round, he didn’t. Not that it mattered, as all we have from the entrance/ bar area is a central corridor with half a dozen rooms either side, most of which have a bed. At the end of the corridor there’s a larger room with a large circular bed and various S&M paraphernalia. An unlit neon sign ‘sauna’ was here, but no sign of any sauna. The manager was showing someone else around and I asked him if there’s a sauna, ‘first room on the right’. Ok, not where the sign is then. Imagine googling ’cheapest sauna’ because that’s surely what they did here. I can only describe it as a 4x6 B&Q garden shed with heating elements that look like a toaster and failed to raise the temperature beyond tepid. I was one of only 6 guys there, the place had no heating on and the rooms were so cold 4 of us at one point ended up crammed in the sauna to get some residual heat, laughing at how rubbish it all was. Cold an uninviting, ridiculously loud music everywhere killing any attempt at atmosphere, even the bare beds looked clinical. One room had a bizarre glory hole, the other side of which was what appeared to be a staff room, nice. There’s no cinema room, no jacuzzi, steam room, dark room or anything which would make me want to go again. The classic touch was a female member of staff, yes really, who was quite happy to wander into the locker room as I was getting dressed. Don’t waste your money guys.

I guess that it will take come time for this place to build momentum, word will need to spread and I think I will wait a couple of months before I try it, by which time hopefully it will be busier.

Nowhere else charges a refundable deposit for a locker, why are these people doing it? I know it’s refundable but it’s still my money!

Glad I didn't bother going to try it out after all...I'll stick to Heroes. It's in urgent need of some TLC, but it's local, it's £14.00 and there's always cock to enjoy

I went in tonight (8pm Saturday) charged £13 to get in, only 2 couple in there both complaining about how quiet it was. The Sauna might fit 4 people max, the blow up jacuzzi was not working. I left after 10 min, no mention of a refund for key or towel. If this place does not make changes it will not make it to 2025

I only found out about this place yedterday. It's close to me and would have been ideal geographically. I used to go to Unit2 in the gay area of city centre but it sadly closed down a while ago now. It was clean, reasonably priced and had everything.

Having read the reviews of this place I will DEFINITELY not be visiting

I was initially excited when I saw this thread as I am in Birmingham from time to time and somewhere new to play is always welcome. However having read the reviews I don't think I will be tempted. I'll stick to the village whilst I am there x
