How many handbags do you own?

Can you defend having 5 pairs of shoes, all variations of blue?

How sheer are your knickers?

Do your shoes have to match your scarf?

If you can answer lots and yes to the above, then you're a woman

As for the OG poster. A 3rd gender would be a good idea to determine those who are and have transitioned. Maybe XY?

There are men who have transitioned from male to female but they will never truly become a woman no matter how much they try to convince the world. These are just indisputable facts.

Sadly, there are only two genders in reality. If i could wake up tomorrow and be a woman i would love it. I would be a street walker my lunchtime.

Apart from a tiny number who are born intersexed/Hermaphrodite there are physically only two gender. I accept that a man might have a female mentality and wish his body to become female [also some women wish to become men] and even take quite drastic steps to become a woman. Fair enough if he is prepared to undergo hormone treatment and surgery. Still wont be a true woman but will, for all intents and purposes, be able to function as a woman except for the obvious like pregnancy, periods etc. Just putting on a dress, make-up and wig and calling yourself Lucinda does not make a man a woman.

If you have gone full gender change, and had your knob chopped off, do you get to use the women's bog or relegated to disabled?

It's not even intersex though. Women can be born with ovaries but no womb. They would go through puberty even. Just not "designed to have children".

I think gender dysmorphia is a very real thing but, as I have already said, just dressing up as a woman and giving yourself a female name does not make you a woman. You need to live as a woman 24/7 and take steps to become a woman e.g. hormone therapy, surgery etc.

I saw this and thought here we go again. I read the forum and thought, we're here again.

Peoples choices/dysmorphia have zero affect on anyone else with the exception of the tiniest percentage.

Its ironic that gay/bi (and pretend straight) men are blabbing on about a topic whilst abusing and taking for granted the rights that they've accrued since their particular sexual orientation has been legal.

Many against this topic were subjected to the lack of rights, some may even have participated in achieving those rights, only to decades later belittle and attack other peoples right to identify how they choose.

Zero fucks are given my end. I don't care, it doesn't affect me. Just let people live their lives without interfering little busy bodies constantly having to opine over a subject they have (in most cases) only superficial knowledge.

Rant over.

I don't know about the ruling, but the law recognises a MtF as being of the other sex when they obtain a gender recognition certificate after 2 years of the real-life experience and clinical validation.

The trans activists and groups like Stonewall want you to believe anyone who says they are a woman IS a woman, and many bodies and organisations have gone along with that.

But that goes well beyond what the law actually says.

Where does this end?

Simply defining Humans as "Able to give birth" and "not able to give birth" obviously seems too narrow definition for some.

It may be ludicrous to some and controvertial but after many conversations with my fully trans bother turned Sister but I feel you cant [yet] out define nature. No matter your mental proclivities if you cannot give birth and have Y cromosome then irrespective of the label you select you are NOT truly female. Its not anyones fault so stop trying to make it every ones issue

There are an infinite number of iterations in the “T” world from “hairy pant warer” as a fetish to person is just frankly born in the wrong body and need to transition to ever have peace..

They all have different needs

The broadbrushing dismissiveness as a number have done in this post feels frankly cruel.

I am so lucky to have many friends that are t/trans/transtioned girls …

One of the most affecting of my many conversations with a good friend of mine who spent enormous amounts of her resource ,life and money to transition was when she told me that she would often be sad at the start of a day as she would dream as girl but then wake up sad as she realised she was in a boys body…

A beautiful ,strong admirable person who is an inspirational example of a much misunderstood part of our society..

Yes. It's not a belief if/when you have a cock in your mouth, arse, hand or vice versa. It's a denial. Curiosity is a one off not an every other week profile being set up, meet some guy, drop your nut, feel regret, delete profile and repeat.

Same as opinions, opinions are only opinions if they're factually correct, otherwise they are at best a belief and at worst an outright lie.

It's perfectly logical to say a woman is a biological woman.

XX will always be XX

It now moves to the debate, who polices this?

Must you carry certificates with xx and xy on them to enter the correct spaces?

Do we employ people to check what genitals one has before entering a toilet in a pub?

Can trans men enter female only spaces? They after all xx at birth?

It's a complicated issue for unicorn species. I find it bizarre and weird, possibly because of male privilege or possibly because theirs only ever been one bad actor in this genre and yet we had to the supreme court decide what biology has always known.

Weird from start to end

The base line is set

You are born and sexed.

Male or Female

You become

A Man or a Woman

That Cis prefix is no longer relevant.

So now all of the above people, who are in the majority, I might add, are happy.

Then it gets complicated.

Gender identity is something peculiar to Humans.

But the law now states:-

Your sex is immutably the same as that noted on your Birthday.

After hormone treatment, FTM definitely start to look more masculine, perhaps because we all start off as female.

MTF, have a harder job, because the rush of testosterone during puberty produces secondary sexual characteristics such as chiselled jaw bones etc. men are taller.

Surgery is an option, to physically transition. That should be available privately.

It's a tricky on. I stand by my statement, quoted above [middle section] of 20 weeks ago. If a transsexual have made to effort to become the opposite sex to which the were born, then I think they should be recognised in their new gender. However that does not apply to crossdressers, transvestites and frauds.

I actually knew April Ashley many years ago. We used the same pub. She had undergone full gender reassignment surgery when it was still in its early stages and not available in this country. She was quite a character and I believe it was she who once said "dig up my skeleton in 200 years time and it will be immediately recognised as that of a man"

Many premises already have unisex facilities.

Usually with a disabled badge on the door.

They are not for the exclusive use of disabled people.

Sooooo roomy, too, when it comes to, um, er, powdering one's nose.

Toilets on trains and planes are unisex.

There is a super bar around the corner from me that has toilet cubicles designated male, female and gender-neutral.

I don’t think I’d really about bathrooms. From what I seen it’s some trans women trying to get in women safe spaces that cis women didn’t feel comfortable in.

There was also issues where positions were created in organisations that were unrepresented for that post to go to a trans woman because of the experience she gained as a man. While trans is a minority group I can understand the frustration of cis being excluded by some that got all their advantages of a men and then claims to represent women.

I don’t think that is the trans woman’s fault it a very complex issue.

In regard to sport a trans woman that goes through puberty as a male with have an advantage. I think the should have there own category to compete in same for trans men.

This is an enormously complex issue with feeling running high on all sides. It needs calm heads and time to sort it.

I think it will be painful for all involved.

I remember a case raised in Parliament by an MP.

Police were investigating an allegation of sexual assault on a female-only hospital ward.

The hospital was adamant there was no male on the ward at any time, so did not co-operate.

It took ages for the police to discover the hospital had recorded the patients by gender identity, not sex.

There was indeed a male-bodied person on a female-only ward.

Insane.

"The female survivor complains to the organisation about the presence of a male-bodied person.

The organisation says they are being transphobic and need to embrace the person as a woman.

The complainant then goes to the newspapers."

This is quite accurate

A client of mine works for a women’s refuge ( she’s quite high up) The trouble & paperwork they have to get through to help DV victims & then have to be all inclusive on the grounds of “diversity “ - only to let the cock into the hen house as it were- the police are useless , too busy worrying about feelings rather than facts

I argued years ago with trans activists that they were pushing water up a hill.

That the eventual backlash from the rest of society would damage everyone who just wanted to get with their lives.

That the risked losing the gains already.

They called me a transphobe, a TERF, a betrayer of the sisterhood blah blah blah

"There are men who have transitioned from male to female but they will never truly become a woman no matter how much they try to convince the world. These are just indisputable facts."

I’m afraid this is factually wrong.

HRT literally changes sex…all the way to cell methylation. Thems the cold hard facts. Trans women are most certainly women.

There is a very real, very material, & complex reality why this is the case, whether people balk at the idea or not. Sadly, it gets lost because of, so called, common-sense thinking. But common-sense thinking is frequently revealed as misleading, invalid bullshit, no matter how truthful it ‘feels.’

I’m sorry, but that’s still not the case. I could get very deep into post-A Level biology on this but I think it’s a) wasted, as people are entrenched, b) reductionist because, really, hard definitions are intrinsically authoritarian. Trans people cause zero injury to cos people. The reaction is an attempt to police bodies by people who are paranoid.

Yes and female to male by the same methods. Changing your sexual appearance. Feminisation or masculinisation is is entirely possible. There is no definitive answer I think. The level of acceptance varies so much across the population and also with age. As with most things. Time will tell

I'll take the word of Prof Sir Robert Winston, Britain's foremost expert on human reproduction.

Your sex is set for life about week 7 or 8 of gestation. It is discovered at birth.

"Trans people cause zero injury to cis people"?

OMG!

Open your eyes.

Our courts are littered with the convictions of trans people for sex crime.

I don’t get the supposed difference between gender and sex.

I rather feel gender is the physical equipment you are born with and sex is what you do with it

If we put it the other way round that’s when we get into the endlessly murky waters of gender identity and self identification

I’d prefer the terms transgender to transsexual

That may go against the recent ruling but who knows ?

I'm no biologist but having had two transwomen friends I have a sort of interested fascination on the subject. True after full surgery and hormone therapy the body will stop producing testosterone and become more and more feminine. But the bone structure does not change. With some trans breast do develop naturally but the majority have to have implants to achieve their goals. What they have down below may look like a vagina and function as one but it is not part of a female reproduction system. To put it crudely it is an artificial fuck-hole and most transwomen have to dilate them regularly as the somewhat confused body wants to close them up.

The opposite.

The species is divided into 2 sexes - male and female.

The binary division is central to human reproduction.

The difference between the 2 sexes is a LOT more than just the external appearance of genitalia.

Gender is a social construct, and usually refers to stereotypical or adopted roles in society.

I wonder if the reason many trans people struggle to understand why women take issue with them is simply because trans people are not women and as such cannot see that viewpoint, as in from a womans perspective.

What I wonder, is what happened to Mother Nature in the 90s onwards (I know some have had a “sex change operation” before that) when she created SO MANY people who now believe that they have been born into the wrong body? It feels like there has been an explosion in numbers of people wanting to be transsexual , pansexual, allosexual, asexual, autosexual, demisexual, fluid, non-binary, gynesexual, graysexual, hetero-flexible/homoflexible, sapiosexual, skoliosexual and spectrasexual. Well, up to April 2025 anyway …

How the fuck did we end up here? The Gay Liberation Front back in the 60/70s wanted human sexual liberation for everyone - labels can be helpful for that but we seem to be boxing ourselves into more and more categories and to what end?

So when someone such as I, is described as bisexual, that is a description of what I do, not what I am.

And what's the third one going to achieve? How would it help the population? There are only two sexes/genders for copulation. What will the third one do? Not being argumentative, I'm just very curious.

All these labelling and categorising people is making life really difficult for everyone. It caused arguments, causing groups to develop, causing more destruction and arguments. Humanity is one species we shouldn't be separated. But sadly, today's culture is designed around causing disruption, arguments and disrespect.

Cautious comments coming. At this rate, humanity won't last that long.

The growth of narcissism. Social media being a peculiar catalyst.

You could see things starting to change when everyone kept demanding they had their own flag. No matter how much you emphasised that the WHOLE POINT of the rainbow as an emblem is that it includes every colour permutation and is inclusive of everyone… that just wasn’t enough. Black Pride had to have a black stripe. Then the Bears 🐻 had to have their flag (which looks like something smeared with peanut butter, mud and poo)… Then the trannies had to have their flag 🏳️‍⚧️ (which looks like something from a Central American dictatorship bleached on too hot a cycle in the washing machine). Then they had to be forced on to the other flags. “But you’re all included in that original rainbow flag…” “NO - I have to have my own bit of it!”

Then this moved into terminologies. If you were a man with a sexual attraction to another man you could fit into gay or bi. Everyone used to fit in there. “Oh that’s not enough! I need to have my own bespoke sexuality!” … “I have to have a term that describes exactly my individual attitudes to sexuality - at this particular juncture in my life - and I want it now!” VerucaSaltosexual.

I spent my early years as an out gay man trying to make sure I was free of any boxes that others wanted to put me into and so I would be treated as an individual in my own right. I’ve spend the last 15 years staring in dumb horror at people willingly climbing into prescriptive boxes of their own accord. And they think this is in some way ‘progressive’ and healthy.

Nail hit firmly on the head. It reminds of going to buy some toothpaste in Brighton Boots once - there were three long shelves of the stuff! Whitening, fresh, charcoal, mint, aloe Vera, clinically approved, with stripes, white, recommended by dentists, gum strengthening, sensitive teeth, pink, on and on and on. I realised then that things had gone horribly wrong somewhere.

I just wanted bloody toothpaste.

Now, like applying for a job with 35 tickboxes, I’m never sure if my sexuality meshes with another man’s because there are so many ways to be incompatible.

I read on Facebook that Mardi Gras bar in Blackpool has changed its ladies toilets to gender-neutral toilets in support of trans people.

And I'm left wondering why it's only the ladies loos that are being redesigned. No mention of the men's becoming a shared space.

Probably because the ladies is all cubicles , so easier to repurpose , than a lav with 1 cubicle and a trough or bank of urinals .

Unisex , gender neutral is the way to go …..

It sends out the wrong message for me - men and women being treated unequally.

The simple solution is to state all the toilets are gender-designated (rather than sex).

That way, anyone who identifies as that gender knows both are inclusive.

No need to pick on the ladies and remove their space.

The more militant LGBT++++++++ people will tell you these variations have always existed. Perhaps to an extent they had. Prior to 1967 very few dared to admit they were gay/bi. I wonder how many gay/bi men went to their graves without even so much as kissed another man, let alone had sex with him, because of society's restrictions. Thinking back to my schooldays,'60s/'70s, it was obvious a few of the other pupils were gay or would go on to be gay. I was one but doubt anyone noticed because I was a bit 'one of the lads' and liked sport. I know one lad seemed a bit obsessed with sex-change. He wasn't particularly effeminate but he had found a magazine about it and he would secretly dress up in his sister's underwear for a wank. I happened to meet him, by chance, many years later and he was still a man and in fact married with children.

Half the other things mentioned I honestly haven't got a clue what they are. Non-binary/gender-fluid seems to be something that has become a fashion fad in the last few years. In my opinion it is a nonsense. I accept trans is a real thing, gender dysmorphia, but the rest are just strange.

In previous decade teenagers would find a niche or a tribe based on a shared activity or musical taste: Metalheads Goths, EMOs, Clubbers, Skateboarders etc. A way to express individuality and belonging. Mostly harmless. That seem to have been replaced by this notion of gender identity, hopefully most will grow out of it. Sadly some have made radical changes that they will later regret.

The alphabet soup of LGBTQIA/NB/GF+ etc has proliferated over the years due to the internet and social media, and especially to sites like Fetl*fe.

Here you can find endless variations of the different sexualities and genders that people think up

Most of them are nonsense and simply slight variations on the basic three or four

This is very true. Loads of younger people went through phases often trying to imitate their idols. Remember a lad in the early '80s who was obsessed with Gary Numan. Dressed like him and was a remarkable likeness. Doubt he still does in his late 50s/early 60s. We had skinheads and hippies. We went in for all sorts of different styles etc. All temporary and none of them life changing.

Trans activists deface the statue of suffragette Millicent Fawcett in London.

Absolutely insane.

Of all the statues to attack, imagine going for a heroine of the women's rights movement.

One of the reasons I take nothing to do with their cause - it is toxic

Labour, like the Tories under Mrs May, were in favour of the gender self-ID policy.

Mrs May even consulted on the idea, before discovering how toxic an issue it was and dropping the idea.

Corbyn had it in the manifesto in 2019 but Mr Starmer dropped it after seeing the huge hole the SNP got into over it.

The ruling merely reasserts the position that Parliament intended in the 2010 legislation.

The equalities industry has wilfully ignored it, and spent years castigating anyone who suggested a trans woman was not of the female sex as being a transphobe.

Interesting point made on the radio yesterday.

As trans women are now to be labelled as "men" would they be able to go around a major city like London topless?

Someone suggested that a topless demonstration is planned.

It still feels a mess to me.

I think safeguarding women could have been achieved in a different way.

No one has ignored it, the equality act has always worked. Isla Bryson was segregated in a women's prison while it was decided what to do with them. They were then placed into the men's prison. Imprisoned women were never at risk, our media and the coverage of this topic has a lot to blame for the toxicity around for trans people. Reminiscent of the headlines leading up to section 28.

This issue and migrants are the most debated and toxic issues in Britain.

Meanwhile the things that actually effect our lives, like critical infrastructure barely gets a mention.

One name to debunk your nonsense - Karen White.

The Scottish Prison Service policy did indeed require Bryson to be sent to a women's jail.

A double rapist, in a women's jail.

The minister then drove a coach and horses through their entire gender policy by ordering the SPP to move the cretin to a men's prison.

By virtue of the SNP's own policy on transphobia, that made the Minister, Sturgeon and every one of them "transphobia".

Sturgeon could not even bring herself to refer to Bryson as either she or he.

An absolute fiasco.

The court notified the SPP to collect a convicted rapist for the MEN's prison.

The SPP changed the direction of the van to the WOMEN'S prison.

Because their policy for years had been that you served the sentence in the prison that matched your presentation at the time of conviction.

Do keep up - this issue has dogged the SPP for years, and anyone who called it into question was shouted down as a hater and transphobe.

Until Bryson came along, there was public uproar and the whole Alice in Wonderland thinking was quickly dumped.

No but they have made the effort. If a transwoman no longer has a knob/cock/willie/penis she is not a predatory threat to real real. Or at least no more than say a rampart lesbian would be or a predatory gay man would be in men only spaces.

As men we cannot really appreciate how real women feel. Perhaps not threatened but certainly a lot will feel awkward and uncomfortable about it.

I recall a former governor of Cornton Vale women's prison who campaigned for years to raise awareness of this lunacy.

She was smeared and blacklisted as a transphobe.

Former female prisoners spoke out upon their release, too.

They were told they'd be disciplined for hate crime if they pursued their complaints about people with penises sharing the prison showers with them.

"I saw this and thought here we go again.

Rant over."

you can rant all you like but being gay/bi had no impact on another sex, ie women and womens safety nor cheating in their vocation ... (ie sports). so rather than aiming at people who you say are interfering little busy bodies, how about you actually look at the entire ramification before you claim to give "zero fucks" which clearly you do, given your rant ...
