Wondering whether any of you guys who cross dress could advise what a 40 inch waist would be in size number?

Is it around 20?

It really depends on your other measurements (hip and bust) and what type of garment you are buying.

For example, my waist is 36 inches (which might suggest a size 16) but my hips are only 38 inches (more like size 10). However, my knickers are all either size 10 or 12 as they are very forgiving of my waist line.

But dresses have to be 14. Any bigger and they gape around my flat chest!

So it's a lot of trial and error. Try not to spend too much while working it out though. And try to analyse each item. Does it or doesn't it fit and why.

Good fun finding out though!

I'm 5'6" tall and, having gained a couple of inches on my waist over the last four years, measure 38-36-38.

My oldest bra is a 36B which I can still wear for a few hours without too much discomfort, the others are 38C/D/DD. They're all underwired, lightly padded, pushup, apart from the DD which has soft lacey cups which I fill with C cup silicone breast forms.

Most of my lingerie and skirts and tops are size 12, as are some dresses. During the last two years I've bought some bodycon dresses by Phase Eight which are 14 or 16.

One size stretchy stockings and holdups are ok for general wear. I've recently started to buy fully fashioned stockings and it pays to measure feet, legs and thighs, in accordance with size guides available on the internet.
