Sadly none of the above are on the list, and there's very little personality in any of the nominees except one !

This where the word personality is an outdated term. If it was a award for sporting achievement then it should go to Keely Hodgkinson, but for actual "personality" it would go to Littler.

It's sporting award for sporting achievement. On that basis I'm saying Joe Root.

Anyone seeing the performance of the triathlete Alex Yee must surely put him on the short list .

Not sure if there is a lifetime achievement award but if there is , in the year Alistair Brownlee is retiring surely he deserves some recognition

Neverwhere

I think that when someone like Joe Root is nominated (ie a member of a team) then they should only be considered if the team they play for has won something significant (a world cup, Ashes etc) AND the player nominated made an exceptional contribution to that win.

Yes, Joe Root's achievements are astonishing, but for much of the time he has been playing in meaningless test matches against lesser opposition in sparsely populated grounds.

So, much that I like cricket and JR, I think there are much more deserving cases.

Sir y Fflint - Gogledd Cymru

Nobody, the BBC should cancel the event and stop wasting licence payers' fees, time this parasitic, outdated organisation stood on its own two feet!
