I recently started going to a gym. There are shower cubicles with frosted glass doors. You can sort of make out the shape of the guys in there but not easily.

Last night there was a guy in a shower facing the door and standing right up to it, so his cock and balls were more or less on display. I was the only other guy in the shower room and he must have known I was there.

Is this 'normal' behaviour for the gym?

Or was it some sort of come-on?

In the good old days gym showers, like the showers in most changing rooms e.g. rugby, football, hockey etc., were communal. No cubicles, partitions or doors. Guys just showered in front of each other and often chatted at the same time. No 'come ons', nothing sexual. You would get the more coy ones wearing swimming trunks whilst showering but even they had to be pulled off to get dry. Of course those of us who admire and fancy the naked male form had a feast day with our eyes but knew better than to take it any further. A smack in the mouth or expulsion from the gym doesn't always go down well.

My gym has just been refurbished and they kept the communal showers. Yes I see plenty cocks from young to old, people shower & chat whilst in them. Why we need frosted glass and cubicles is beyond me.

My local pool is cubicles only and unisex so nobody talks to anyone, as we're all pigeon 🐦 holed into a shower cubicle then a changing one.

It's completely "normal" to get a bit hard or to show off in the shower. Exercise, sport , gym , competition all increase testosterone levels. It's nothing to do with sexuality IMO. We are just men. Just regular old hormones, curiousity and human behaviour. Every guy ever has checked out another guys cock in the shower or shown off theirs.
