Reading profiles

Do you read a profile before sending a message? Obviously there's something that made you view the profile... I read the text first, and if liking the words I check pics (if there are any) then decide what to write as a cut and paste generic message often offends, and one word messages are plain boring...

I do find that very few read through mine, it's long, I know but at least you know what you get...

What are your thoughts?

Your "about me" consists of 860 words.

Someone who reads at 100 words per minute will take almost 9 minutes to get to end.

Are the messages you send just as wordy?

Completely cut mine down . No one wants to read war & peace on a hook up site . Sadly either way reading a profile is going the way of the dodo

I read most profiles, else I don’t message

If I seen someone with as much text as your profile, I would just scroll past it

If I'm interested, I read.

I consider it the bare minimum pre-contact for those I message and those who would message me.

Not necessarily this long... I do find that ones who read are more interesting... Yet I still get the occasional "what are you looking for" message that makes me laugh...

You see that will depend on what you stick in my mouth...

Yes I do. I don't message unless I sense there is at least the possibility of compatibility. Of course it up to the profile owner if he agrees or not

Never message anyone without reading their profile. Also read their veris. Then check their pix.

In that order.. so have a good idea of whether we'd be compatible.

What Iffery....

What if you do read a profile and it informs us about Sydney University and it's permissions....

and /or dire warnings about Facebook or Fabguys being a publicly traded entity..any infringements and he'll sue facebook for every penny they've got...

I always read the profile- as a starting point, it will always help your decision about whether you want to g further down the lines of communication and a possible meet (or not). Naturally, I look at the pics, but I like a well thought out profile. It often informs my block list.

Visiting

3 types of profiles that I don't bother reading:

1. Any profile with the legal warning. Just dumb.

2. War and Peace. Drones on and on about likes, dislike, blah blah....

3. A list of infringements that will get you 'instantly blocked'. Normally from the more passable TV/TD contingent.
