I'm on my own at Christmas.

I can stay at home and feel sorry for myself, or get myself glammed up, pull on the Mrs Santa outfit and go down the pub for a few hours.

Maybe even a lock-in if I'm lucky.

Please note, the assumption of my isolation on Christmas Day is based on the belief that Santa again ignores my heart-felt letter asking for a Chippendale in my Xmas stocking.

The anticipation of Christmas usually exceeds the event itself. A bit like sex sometimes!

Sir y Fflint - Gogledd Cymru

Many local communities, Round Tables, Rotary Clubs, Churches etc do offer a Christmas Day Meal get together for anyone who is on their own, which lightens the day especially for anyone who feels particularly lonely.

Not everyone's ideal solution, I know, but it does help thousands at a particularly hard and reflective time of year!

Details are probably on your local community website / social media page or at your local library.

Here's wishing all Fabguys the Very Best for the Christmas Season and a Happy and Healthy 2025! 🎄🧑‍🎄🎈🎊🎉🍾🥂

I actually prefer to spend Christmas Day on my own. Though if some hunky bloke cares to join me I won't say no.

South Shore Blackpool.

Christmas is a cheap and tacky disruptive period we just need to tolerate, most survive it and come out the other side just to do it all again next year.

People celebrate the illusion that everyone will magically have a personality transformation for the festive big day to participate in the fantasy.

We will then optimistically welcome the New Year where the country will still do exactly the same things, in exactly the same way and expect a different result.

I think I could be the Grinch

lol

An old friend of mine will be on her own over Christmas. We have invited her to come to us. She has been in poor health for a while now. Split up from her partner and had to give up her dog. Actually she is in quite good spirits. I suppose I feel more sorry her than she feels sorry for herself. Get a few whiskies in her in the pub on Christmas eve she will be fine

I've spent many a Christmas day alone. And will spend this one the same.

I have invites (my friend's wife stopped asking) but don't really like this time of year. I use the day to sort things out I don't get time for in the year. One year, i used the 4x4 and trailer from work and moved some furniture into my new home. The neighbours curtains were twitching, looking at this muppet and his antics, lifting bedroom drawers.

I'm not a grinch or anything, just never felt the magic of the season. Kids will be off doing their own thing, visiting in-laws, grandkids will be having fun etc. We'll all get together on 28th for a meal. That'll be my pleasurable day.

I once volunteered at a homeless shelter on Christmas Day. Not virtue signalling; not looking for any sort of praise. Just saying it’s a useful way to pass’s the day if you are on your own.

Sammy love yourself as who you really are, who you want to be. If you radiate love, others will love you and you'll never be lonely.

As for december 25th it s as ok as any other day but I thoroughly hate the c word and all the yuch that goes with it.

I do love myself that's how I learned to forgive and forget and love others I wouldn't change a thing in my life because it would have changed what I have now xxx
