"Is this another group of freeloaders expecting Labour to pay up because their pension age was changed ? Well thank goodness Labour has lost interest and not a penny will be changing hands post election. " If that happened to you, you’d have a very different POV.

"Labour's problem is they promised explicitly in opposition to change this - and now they've doubled-down on the original policy." Who trusts politicians?

"I agree with them the deserve compensation the guys only went up by one year and the women went up by six years that's not fair plus they didn't not give them a lot of notice to do this " The original change was made in 1995. That equalised pension ages by 2020. That was changed in 2011 to make the change by (I think) 2019. That’s 34 years notice. How much time do you think they needed?

"It’s a theft from women who paid NI in good faith expecting to retire at the normal age." Just out of interest how many paid in and for how long then work out how much they paid in and how much they claim to want. Not arguing. Just think it would be very interesting results. At that time not as many worked, less worked full time.

"My sister expected to retire at 60 and nobody told her until 6 months before that she wouldn't get her pension until she was 66. Just as well she had a works pension she could afford to live on" She could have carried on working till she was 66 …we don’t force people to retire. When I started work I expected to retire at 65 , now I won’t get a pension till I’m 67 , so I will work till 67 , simples.

"They wanted equality well they got it Women always want equality until doesnt suit them" the outright misogyny in these forums is very surprising when about 3/4 you spend the whole time talking about your sexual fantasies about women (other than your wives of course, no sexual feelings there!!) and playing dress up as women then the first chance you get your misogyny comes pouring out. No wonder half of you you can't get a man OR woman haha!

Well thank goodness Labour has lost interest and not a penny will be changing hands post election. " You have no fucking idea you twat these women paid there NI based on an implicit promise then the government changed the rules. If there are any freeloaders in the UK it's sweatiest like you who get free everything from the Scottish government and expect massive wadges of cash from the rest of us. If slimy fish squid had got there way and won the independence vote you would have been bankrupt by now

I was expecting 65, now if going to be 67. It’s not fair, I paid in and didn’t get what’s promised, but no one is claiming people my age should be compensated. What makes me laugh about this whole Waspi episode is that, back in the 70/80’s Women were complaining quite vocally at times that it was very unfair that they were forced to retire at 60 when Men had to work until they were 65 and that they should be treated the same. Now they have what they wanted, apparently no one told them 🤔🤦♂️

"I'm agnostic on whether they should be compensated but I don't buy the argument that the change took them by surprise: it was widely known and discussed many, many years before it kicked in. " Totally agree. Also, I understand that they've a budget for the post office workers and those affected by the blood scandal (far too late)

"Major figures in the Labour Party were supporting their cause not long ago. Utterly fed up with Westminster and the rats residing there. England please please go for independence 🙏 " Don't be confused, please don't misunderstand...we can't respect your wishes more... Labour should've stayed out of it and said we're not in power...yet...we'll see what we can do when we are. Now we are in power, we can't do anything. Sorry about that! Back to your kitchens, ladies!

"While Labour have stated they will not pay compensation, the Tories have said the same. While decision will stick in the throat of many at least they’ve said rather than kicking the can down the road like the Tories have. But labour promised different. Tories never did. It's the lies we hate Both the May political parties have rejected compensation, you need to slag both off not just Labour. "

Many WASPI women probably voted for Labour due to that support. Labour were totally duplicitous.... another example to add to a lengthening list of betrayal

We live in tough times, tough decisions have to be made. It's nice to have someone in charge who doesn't make policies made by and for the daily mail.
