The Lake District

Well, just how accurate is the site at showing who is near ?

Seems it's SUPER accurate even to the point of me receiving 2 messages a couple of weeks apart, and both asking if I'm at (place not named for privacy),but both times while at a large, private company premises !!!

Just TOO close for comfort

Had them very close before but never named my exact location. Always scary but curiosity seems to get the better of me and I end up throwing caution to the wind

I have had a “in touching distance” in a railway station waiting room. He was just across the room from me. Nodded and winked, but had to go for my train.

I get guys sometimes showing as “within half a mile” but there is no public place within that distance. They sometimes show as “within a mile”, which is more likely.

I’ve tried it in Florida, Mexico and Prague and it’s worked in all of those places .

Had this happen in both a Manchester hotel, 3 rooms down the corridor and at the Premier inn in Anglesey on the floor below. Sadly was with the Mrs both times and couldn't get away.

Yes he did and dropped "fab guys" into a casual conversation at the bar while waiting to be served. If I didn't know what fabguys was I would have just took his comment as a normal term of speech so he had nothing to lose...we had already messaged before this so he knew I wasn't available but his comment left me in no doubt that he was "introducing" himself.

If you feel spooked by the who's near function just turn the option to allow location access off when prompted to allow it

Calm down dear...you are just a potential shag nearby that has been identified by an app..noone is targeting you or stalking you. It's just a case of computer says yes

Why all the drama? all you have to do is turn Who's near off if it is bothering you.

Fab will then default to using the first half of the postcode you you entered.

‘Within touching distance’ can be a little scary when you realise you are probably within 10 metres and you aren’t in any position to meet

The distance thing is accurate but the time lag can be an issue. I've met with men who have left my house but 30 minutes later are still showing as within touching distance.

You are being tracked every day you drive or use a cash machine. At least you can turn off tracking on your phone or the whos nearby feature on here. Sorry I dont see your concern.

How is FG to know that you are not one of those types that sneak off work for a bit of hanky panky at the drop of a hat? Oh the pleasures of WFH

Try logging off before you go to work.

Then you shouldn’t show as at your place of work.

Within touching distance is pretty accurate, hotel I stayed in last week I accidentally turned location on and received a message from someone “hey just wondering are you at …hotel?” Turns out same floor two doors down, accidental good meet but still it’s accurate

If they message and naming the company they either work at or are visiting while i am also visiting,Yes! Do they really think im dressed femme and looking to meet when THEY want too,not when i am also looking to meet.

If all this freaks you out as you say it does then I'm baffled as to why like others and myself have said earlier in the thread you don't just turn "who's near" off then people wouldn't know you were close by, or just don't bother signing in at all if you are out of your normal comfort zone area.

Guys aren't expecting you to be dressed wanting a quick fuck but probably think you are looking yourself because you are both signed in here and got "who's near" turned on....you can't have everything the way you want it to be...the saying you are mountain out of a mole hill comes to mind

A lot of people may think that those online on an anonymous hook up site are actually looking to arrange to meet. Clearly some people find such an assumption unacceptable.
