Manchester Airport Assault Case

North London (outer)

Two men have been charged over a fight with police at Manchester Airport which happened before an officer was filmed stamping on a suspect's head.

Brothers Mohammed Amaaz, 20, and Muhammed Amaad, 25, have been charged with assaulting police officers, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said.

No charges are being brought against any police officers involved in the incident on 23 July, it added.

**For some while now the forum has seen comments from right-wing racists and islamaphobes, claiming that the failure to charge these two is part of some 'two-tier' approach policing, especially when discussing those who were prosecuted in connection with the riots following the horrific Southport murders.

Hopefully they'll be quiet now after continually making such fools of themselves.

I'm glad someone has pointed this out. People want instant action now rather than waiting for due process.

I wonder if Mr. Farage will be apologising for his comments on this.

What I cannot understand is why it's taken so long to make a decision, there was video footage and I'm sure statements would have been taken immediately after. So why has it been on hold for so long?

I suspect that it’s taken so long as they would have completed the investigation against the police officers before announcing the charges against the offenders which were probably decided faintly quickly. The IOPC take ages to investigate Police officers.

Because sometimes it just does.

There were obviously a lot more issues than we knew about.

Yeah, I'm sure that's it

Once again he should've kept his mouth shut, if anything he probably delayed proceedings.

Asking why it took so long for the investigation and action by the cps was justified in the face of the rushed judgment where the rioters where concerned, perhaps the fools that can’t see the unequal treatment might also give their head a wobble .

Timing is everything - it’s good to bring out controversial news just before Christmas. Everything will be forgotten by January.

Due process has taken place and the charges have been set, now justice (and not a mob of idiots and a bin on fire) will prevail. It's called Democracy, so far it is still in place.

There was no rushed judgement with regards to the rioters. They were putting lives and property in danger and their behaviour needed to be nipped in the bud. The government took decisive action and the rioting stopped, a great job.

If people are thick enough to share a video of themselves throwing rocks at police or setting fire to bins outside a hotel then they cannot be suprised if their case is quite easy to process.

Same goes for people that don't understand this

I am well pleased they 'eventually' gor charged with assault etc....

Even more pleased, but surprised in this day and age, that the officer wasn't charged with assault for kicking the bloke on the head...

He deserved it after launching such a ferocious attack and those who have never faced such violence will probably disagree....

Erm, try reading the facts that the police were being investigated too (a copper stamped on someone's head and kicked him, found not guilty) before the case could be sorted.

I have no idea what point you are trying to make.

The police complaints process has not yet been completed as much as people assume it has and if as you said rioters where convicted at speed through video evidence what happened to that prosecutional zeal when it came to the Manchester case and the video evidence there . Really hope that clears it up for the shall we say slow witted

Any reasonable person understands why the far-right thugs were fast-tracked - the risk of contagion snd violence spreading across towns and cities.

Everyone except right-wing extremists hell-bent on civil war welcomed their removal from society.

The fact they pleaded guilty and were sentenced immediately to imprisonment tells you incarceration is not a new experience for any of them.

Racially-motivated thuggery.
