I need some advice please. I really want to go to a sauna as I have never been to one before. Ideally I would like to go with someone but I guess I am just to have to be brave and go it alone. My questions are what do I take and what are the do's and don'ts.

Just go. Towels will be supplied along with condoms and lube. Take some extra cash for drinks while you are there, thats all. Above all remember that 'No' is acceptable either by you or said to you. You won't be everyone's cup of tea and they won't be yours. Relax and enjoy!

Go and enjoy it, easier said than done. I remember it took me about four visits to my local sauna before I actually went in, I stood outside it for ages.

Relax have fun you can say no and they can. If they say no just move on.

You're not very far from me. I've been to the Locker Room in Kennington a couple of times and can definitely recommend it.

There's nothing to worry about, everyone's there for the same reason and you're pretty much guaranteed to have fun.

Everyone has been in the same boat as you - ready to go to their first sauna but scared. I was the same. You read stories about what goes on, but you've never seen it with your eyes so the fear of the unknown builds inside you.

But once you get through the door that fear drains away.

Go there expecting to enjoy the facilities only, so that anything that happens after that is an added bonus. Just think about having a nice couple of hours hitting the steam room, sauna and just relaxing.

You don't need to take anything special with you other than some cash to pay for entry and maybe a locker, where you'll be given a key and some towels.

Depending on the venue, if you explain that it's your first time there's a good chance they'll show you around which can help ease your worries.

Take your time, get your bearings and explore and as another poster said above, no means no. Consent is very important in places like this and the majority of people will not feel offended if you say no.

First time is always the hardest and the most difficult part is opening the door and walking through, once you have done that it is all fun. Just take a deep breath, get in there and explore. You don’t need to take anything with you and you don’t need to do anything more than watch if you don’t want to. Take it at your own pace but the longer you wait the more you will regret not taking the plunge sooner.

"Me too, never been, want to but too scared! Anyone want to introduce me to Splash in Leicester?"

Honest question. How will someone you don't know help you in this situation?

Just go.

I've been going to various ones for years and nearly everytime feel like everyone there is more experienced than me - they're not.

Just think of it like a spa or gym. Go, strip off in the changing room, take a shower, wrap the towel around and wonder around.

Try to relax first and enjoy the facilities and then see what happens.

Nothing more off putting than the guys who are just coming on too strong and in a hurry.

Relax, chill and let whatevers gonna happen happen naturally.

Agree. Been there too. Quite relaxed. So is Sailors at Limehouse.
