What do Trump’s fans on here think of his latest demands that “… the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity”. Greenland’s PM thinks otherwise!

And also: If shipping rates are not lowered, Trump said on Sunday, "we will demand that the Panama Canal be returned to us, in full, quickly and without question".

Panama’s president, unsurprisingly, disagrees.

What’s next? Perhaps, given that the USA landed on the moon first, he’ll say it’s theirs and anyone else who wants to land there has to pay the USA landing fees. I wouldn’t put anything past him …

One of 3 territories that make up the kingdom of Denmark.

Faroe Islands is the other.

Prior to the UK, the only country to have left the European Union, too.

Or rather, Denmark removed Greenland from EU jurisdiction and regulation, after a referendum there in the 1980s to do with fishing rights.

Greenland is self governing though the king of Denmark is also king of Greenland and Denmark is responsible for the Greenlandic defence and foreign policy. A believe that DT, during his first term in office, asked the former Danish queen. Margrete II, to sell him Greenland. I believe she just told him that it wasn't for sale.
