I always go for a prawn cocktail and some fresh bread or toast

This year it’s all Lidl

Bed if Rocket with sprinkling of minute diced peppers

very fine chopped spring onion ,thinly sliced cucumber, segmented vine tomato that have been warmed through.

A good portion of Lidl big fat prawns topped with home made Marie rise sauce and sprinkled with paprika

A nice glass of chilled white wine

The trick is not making it too big or you spoil dinner

What’s your go to?

Vaguely remember Delia cooking something very similar a few back, I'm not a lover of vermouth, so I've not tried it, but I really like scallops

That's the one, we used her recipe for it. The taste of the vermouth disappears it just tastes a bit winey

Traditionally we always had homemade lentil soup followed by prawn cocktail.

La Chinata sweet smoked paprika is a great garnish on a creamy prawn cocktail. Recommended.

Mine’s a prawn and lobster cocktail from Booth’s. I know it’s not home made but still very nice indeed with a glass of chilled Chardonnay.
