For several Christmasses I enjoyed Aldi's 5bird roast but they don't seem to do it anymore. Reluctantly settled on a turkey joint as on my own and everything else too big and expensive. Will jazz it up a bit with some home-made stuffing and home-prepared pigs-in-blankets.

Had a guinea fowl one year. Probably the nicest Christmas dinner I ever had. A customer used to give me a brace of pheasants every year. Sometimes tend but often a bit tough and was forever spitting out the lead shot. Had partridge one year but a bit of a disappointment. Would be happy with a nice joint of pork but don't care for gammon.

“Just” Turkey for me. I’m grateful for that, as many don’t have even that for Christmas.

I know one poor pensioner who lives In a £2Million mansion who is having a tin of corned beef found in the back of his cupboard dated 1966 while sat around a candle to keep warm
