All plans out of the window. A house guest slipped on the stairs this morning and an ambulance was called. She should be out of surgery now I think, a fractured ankle. Not the best Christmas day. I've had a few glasses of bubbles after a late trimmed down dinner. I am going to move on something else soon. What I've yet decide. Still it could be far, far worse. It could be me in hospital

I went out at 1, thinking I'd get an Uber home at 3 when the Long Bar closed.

Then Dave, mine host, told me the Old Castle Green was open until 10 or 11.

So I tottered up the street in my sky-high heels at 3.

My phone tells me I got an Uber home at 20 past 5.

I woke up at midnight and found my heels behind the front door.

I had a little too much red wine and baby Guiness yesterday
