Agree with you on all counts. It had its moments but seemed a bit dragged out and was, in some ways, disappointing. Always slightly bemused as to why it's called Gavin and Stacey since they are the worse and most boring characters on the show. And yes Neil the Baby is very cute.

I thought it was okay best. Not a classic funny G + S as years gone by but good to see all the characters back again.

Some good nostalgic references to note if you have watched all 17 years worth of stories as well.

It could have been funnier, but maybe it wasn't intending to be like that.

One final note, what route did that satnav take the coach on to get to Southampton docks. I've briefly been there, and it looked nothing like that when I went last.

Start at the beginning, excellent programme. If you watch a few time it’s still funny any many little hidden bits you miss the first time. We need more like this in tv

Many of the references were to previous events over the last 17 years so to tune in for the first time to the last ever episode are you surprised you're a bit " out of the loop " with subtle references to things that happened many years ago in the previous 3 series.

Fortunately we all have different tastes and opinions. I quite like James Corden. Obviously very clever. Perhaps not an actor in the Shakespearian category but nevertheless quite talented and funny. I also find him quite attractive. By contrast I find Matthew Horne [Gavin] rather wooden even if he is good looking. The worse member of the cast is the girl playing Stacey [can't remember her name] Her over-acting and voice really get on my nerves. Still, as I say, we all have different tastes.

It’s all filmed in Wales. The docks look like Newport, 100% not Southampton.

It felt like they we just couldn’t be arsed to write a new script, so they worked through the old ones and reused any funny bits, just to get to the end point, which was what all the fans wanted.

It was nice enough, and a nice way to end it, but not really funny watching the same jokes rehashed.

Loved Gavin and Stacey from the very first episode, watched all of them, more than once and still laugh out loud at some of the antics, daft sayings, silly situations etc... but I must say, the 'finale' was disappointing, it could have been so much better. Am pretty sure things have been left open just enough for either a spin off or another special at some point.
