I've been fight what I call 'the battle of the bulge' all my life. I like my food fair enough but don't eat takeaways, junk food or food with high fat or sugar content. I also was quite fit until recently and well into sport when younger. Now retired and not as active, thanks to other health problems, I really could do with some kind of weight losing boost. Would try these injections if my GP would recommend and if they are safe.

It’s not rocket science - eat less, move round more-watch what you put in your mouth - it’s the way you put on weight. Smaller plates and less junk food Start doing 5- 10,00 steps a day and you’ll see an improvement. There’s no easy way and injections just mask the problem

Ask your GP for a private prescription it's about £140 a month if they agree to it

They lead to muscle wastage, a large number have symptoms of nausea, constipation, loose stools. Plus they rely on use. When you stop the effects stop.

It would be a better investment to look at the rational behind individual eating and review habits. Nobody lacks the time to take better care of themselves.

I understand that the jabs help you to lose weight by killing you. It seems several people have died after having them.

My advice and it’s only my thoughts, would be only to undertake injections with consent of GP.

Otherwise, cut down and eventually eliminated fast or junk food, replace with a balanced heathy diet of fresh, veg, fruit, less red meat, omega 3 rich fish, nuts and pulses, cut down on dairy, get plenty of exercise (even walking each day helps), sleep, cut down alcohol and stop smoking!

Some of these comments honestly, I’ve lost over ten stone so I have some idea what I’m talking about, I’ve tried every plan under the sun they all work to a point if you can sustain which is the real issue, for me calorie counting was the one plan that worked for me, the injections work as I know a couple of people who take them (Mounjaro) yes there are some side effects, I would only recommend getting them from a doctor as like some have said there have been some horror stories, this one’s not a gimmick it is the real deal, that are rolling it out on the NHS but you have to have weight related illnesses and a high BMI and then the roll out is only for a few hundred thousand people.

Once again a little knowledge. I'm type 2 diabetic. I was overweight. I worked full time. Always on my feet. I have 3 dogs they get walked 1 to 2 miles everyday. I don't have many takeaways at all and will eat anything. I don't live on chips. I have hypothyroidism. My thyroid doesn't work. My metabolism would be through the floor without medication, thyyroxine. My doctor said we expect you to become type 2 diabetic. I take Metformin and the miracle weight loss injection ozempic. I feel much better and have lost weight as a side effect. I am not a fat lazy couch potato. I need to keep my blood sugar and insulin resistance in check. Fat bas*ard injections are needed by me to keep me healthy. Not just looking good in budgie smugglers

The most important thing is the will to do it if you haven't got the desire the n you can jab diet exercise all you like but you will put it back on unless you have the desire xxx

If your eating habits stay the same as what they currently are then you’ll just put the weight back on

If you don’t care about building muscle, then you don’t need to go to the gym at all

You need to go on a TDEE Calculator and a Calorie deficit calculator and eat minus 200 - 300 calories than what your maintenance is, and you’ll lose weight

Avoid bread, pastry and processed food.

Eliminate sugar as much as possible.

You'll find the weight will drop away, initially you will loose lots the first few weeks, then regular reduction.

You can still eat plenty, but because it's unprocessed it's digested more naturally and you won't be hungry, any cravings are more like cold turkey from other addictions and must be treated as such, just put them out of your mind.

The will to loose it and keep it off is paramount, it must become a lifestyle choice. There are those that have a metabolism that burns the calories and those that haven't. Portion control mindset and the desire to stay in shape in my opinion is essential. Its not all about food and drink and if like me, you put the weight on easily diets don't work. you have to have the determination xxx

If you're referring to Mounjaro. My specialist put me on it three months ago to help control my blood sugar for type 2 Diabetes. As far as I am concerned, it has been a disaster. I've been constantly suffering with the shits (always at night) to the point I've had to start wearing incontinence pants. Also nausea a lot of the time. AND I've gained weight rather than lose it. I've documented everything for the specialist and had no response. I'm hoping he will take me off it. As for the government's plan to start jabbing unemployed fatties with the stuff, lots of luck with that. And it's around £130 a pen.

Can’t imagine life without bread and pastry, you do NOT need to avoid these foods at all.

All it is, is you need to consume less calories than you burn per day, it’s as simple as that. I would recommend the Mediterranean diet, it’s the best tasting food, has a healthy amount of carbs, fats, protein, etc

Research Mark Haub who for 10 weeks had a diet consisting of twinkies, Oreo’s, Doritos, and other processed junk foods and still lost 27lbs in 10 weeks

Because it’s just eat less calories than you burn per day.

You don’t need to cut out whole food groups (carbs), or not eat bread and pasta at all, saying stuff like that is just promoting non healthy eating habits and eventually you’ll just binge on the stuff you miss eating

Get yourself some alli fat binders,

Pretty straightforward eat a burger then wait for the tsunami of shit hitting your silks.

Eat low fat moderate meals and and the fat binders will do there work with none of the embarrassment shitting yourself usually entails

Honestly its will power. Eat healthy Monday to Friday and if you need to have a Saturday night takeaway. Walk 8000 steps a day, join the gym, and go twice a week minimum.

Meal prep, do overnight oats which Honestly will see you through the morning. Prep an omelette for lunch to reheat. And have a healthy dinner. Snack on nuts and prunes. Get a protein bar for chocolate afternoon sugar needs.

Drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Eventually you will get great comments which will motivate you to carry on with the journey.
