I’m sorry but when you’re trying to protect other people that’s just stupid.. maybe I should create a site!

"protect" people? from what? having their time wasted?

it's a site where half the guys aren't even out or are married and lying to their wives and you think you're not going to get some people who have no intention of meeting and just want a bit of a thrill pretending they will? Grow up and just deal with it.

Block and move on is my way of dealing with it. No second chances

No. Annoying as they are it is a bad idea and would never work.

Define a timewaster? We all have different ideas. I'd say someone who does not show up or sends you on a wild-goose-chase is a timewaster. I know others think someone who cancels a meet, refuses to meet, corresponds for ages then blocks you, turns up but changes their mind about sex etc. etc are all timewasters. In a way they are but no real harm is done and you just have to accept that not everyone will fancy you and that guys do get cold feet through nerves etc.

I once got told, in no uncertain terms, that I was a timewaster for calling off a meet, some 30 miles away, because it had begun to snow heavily. He said that, if I managed to get there, I could stay the night. My thoughts were what if we didn't get on or his house was a tip?

Naming and shaming could lead to all sorts of petty vendettas

Accept time-wasters as part of the course, block them and move on - seems to be the best advice to this age old question on sites like these.

Suggest you read the forum rules before you do….

Personally I think you should be able to name but it’s against the rules 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think you've just nailed it exactly.

Plus, something like that would be so open to abuse. How would you moderate it?

Yeah, you'd just get a bunch of people moaning about closet cases calling it off at the last minute because the wife was home earlier than usual!

Naming and shaming get you nowhere. They won’t care that you named them and it won’t change anything. Just block them so they can’t do it again and move on to your next meet.

There should be a facility to at least flag someone as a time waster, the count could display to others when they view a profile. But there are too many snags, what one person judges as time wasting may not be the same to others so it could be unfairly skewed against someone.

Peoples idea of a time waster is different. What if things are going well then one party says something offensive or controversial which puts the other party off? Does that make them a time waster? What if something genuinely happens to prevent them meeting how do you know it’s not genuine? Does that make them a time waster?

I’m totally against the idea, in spite of having had more than my fair share of timewasters. It would be far too easy to just label anyone a timewaster.

Personally i pay serious attention to a guys timeline of verified meets; no matter how convincing their messages may be.

My view being if you really want to meet then get verifications from meets you had and show them.
