A friend slipped on our stairs and was taken by ambulance to hospital on Christmas day morning with a fractured ankle. Boxing day my nephew's father in law had a heart attack and stroke and was placed in an induced coma. So bugger all was eaten and d*unk. There is still loads left for the new year. Never mind. Such is life even at Christmas

loads, nothing has really been touched in terms of all the treats, will probably end up taking most of it to work and let the wolves have them.

Most of the savoury stuff has gone tonight. Loads of sweets stuff left and alcohol. I didn't drink anywhere near as much as thought I would. Nervous of putting too much weight back on having lost so much last year.

I haven't even bought mine yet, I'd better grab some from the Co-op tomorrow, before they run out.

I have a sealed Stilton in a large earthenware jar unopened from two Christmases ago in my fridge. Should be ripe to eat later this year.

I always keep at least one Christmas pudding in for one of those days when you need something special. There's something quiet satisfying about having Christmas pudding on a scorching hot day in August.

You need a decent bottle of port to go with that 👍🏻

I have a 40 year old port in my pantry but don't have the heart to open it yet.

You should get your Butler to do it.

I too found a Christmas pudding in the cupboard this week. Do you think it would be any good on a barbecue?

We are going to have a Christmas dinner rerun. Christmas was such a disaster. A guest slipped on the stairs and was taken by ambulance to hospital on Christmas day morning. Finally had surgery after a 10 day wait. A relative had a stroke on boxing day evening. Both I'm happy to say have made good recoveries. There are 3 bottles of champagne and some very good wine waiting. So a Christmas dinner party in the garden when we can all get together is being planned. I'm looking forward to it

I'm sure you would be able to cook it on a barbecue, particularly a kettle BBQ with a lid. Perhaps just wrap it in tinfoil and pour some brandy over it first, after pricking it all over with a cocktail stick.

Not quite as bad but few years ago my mum was in hospital having a hip replacement and she was in over Christmas. So we didn't 'do' Christmas that year.

But Christmas in January, once she was home, with all the trimmings was wonderful.
