No point if you hate it .

You don’t even have to acknowledge it .

Just sit indoors cup tea biscuits watch TV .

Go to bed at 11 , wake up it’s 2025

Easy why get upset stressed .

London, Kent M2 corridor

Christmas is for children.

New Year/Sylvester is for adults.

I always have a great NYEP & wake up with someone new (or two) every year.

Can't be bothered with it either. Roll on Thursday when I can get back to work and back to reality.

NYE is for 20s and 30s. As I get older and more sensible I refuse to pay extra to go on a pub, refuse to pay taxis extra (their choice to work), refuse to pay extra for drinks, refuse to drink with scummy chavs who are just out to cause trouble.

Choose wisely, avoid the str8s, scum & trouble.

I think you'll find it's a necessary device to mark the end of one calendar year and the beginning of another. That will happen regardless of your view so 'hating' is rather a waste of emotional energy.

Yes indeed. I wouldn't drink with scum the rest of the year so I'm not going to start tonight

Gran Canaria NOT

maybe unpack why you hate it?

whatever the reason, 'hate' is toxic, far healthier to focus on being glad not to be involved or relief of not having to behave in a way you may feel is false

the point of it?

it is an opportunity to draw a line and start afresh, vital for those who have experienced tragedy, grief, lost a job and so on, or those that need motivation to make changes to their lives

I don't do anything for New Year, it's a non-event for me.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I was alone this Christmas, no gifts. Decided on a coping strategy - just treated it as a normal weekend day. I'm actually quite proud of myself for getting through it all ok.

Well it's an evening with friends or family. A bit of banter and fun and the next day off work. Not bothered with all the other stuff that comes with it though.

Don’t let it bother you if you don’t like it.

I just stay at home, maybe watch a film on tv and go to be at my usual time.

As long as I don’t get dark strangers with lumps of coal banging on my door at midnight it just passes me by.

Ringwood, South West / East .

I would like to be given a blow job

From just before midnight end of 2024

Right though to the new year 2025

Not much chance of that unfortunately

Happy 2025 to all.

My first Christmas and New Year alone as well mate. Glad you got through it, and yeah, you should be proud. Happy New Year.
