Well deserved. National Treasure I think - surprised they have taken so long to give him a K.

Congrats to all being honoured

I find it extremely disappointing that Kevin Sinfield once again has not been awarded a knighthood

He would be in front of all the Sirs & Dames being honoured this year

Just saying

Despite his 11 BAFTAS, long list of other awards in entertainment plus recognition for his academic and cultural activities, the award of a knighthood is actually none of those, it is in recognition of his contribution to the awareness of mental health

Be interesting to read of your achievements and contribution to society that rank you worthy to dismiss his with a Meh

Just not enough knighthoods imo.

I saw a bloke rescue his dog from the canal once.

He should get one.

Oh, and that pretty girl who served burgers the other week.

Make her a dame.

Don't nominate the Southport attacker though. He can't be trusted near a sword or any sort of knife. Maybe he can have a MBE (mad, bad, evil)

I'm surprised it took so long, his plain misterhood always seemed an oversight. Stephen is a good friend of The King. And also a force for good in English public life.

Meanwhile, in other gay Knighthood news: distinguished author Alan Hollinghurst.

English gay life and sex explored in sometimes explicit erotic detail across seven fine novels.

This has not been done before in mainstream literary novels. Sir Alan is a worthy Knight Bachelor.

I don't have a problem with people deserving getting it but when a useless fuck up of a mayor who can't get anything right gets it then it's clearly corruption, I can only hope in years to come the likes of Khan get put in their place and knocked down a peg or 10.

I believe there is a time period between receiving gongs. I agree with you he deserves one & hope his time will come.

As a Rhinos supporter he's been Sur Kev for best part of 20 years.

Having met him on several occasions he truly is an humble down to earth bloke.

Add to that he's one hell of a hot guy.

I feel sorry that people such as yourself suffer from such ridiculous blind faith, based on a made-up story that anyone with half a brain laughs at. Here's what Fry once said about your imaginary friend:

"Because the god who created this universe, if it was created by a god, is quite clearly a maniac, utter maniac, totally selfish. We have to spend our life on our knees thanking him? What kind of God would do that?

Yes, the world is very splendid, but it also has in it insects whose whole life cycle is to burrow into the eyes of children and make them blind. They eat outwards from the eyes. Why? Why did you do that to us? You could easily have made a creation in which that didn't exist. It is simply not acceptable."

Spiritual experiences are possible. There are mysteries that Stephen Fry cannot explain. Atheists are entitled to their opinions yet ultimately until we expire, how can anyone be certain as to what happens?

Atheism is not saying there is no god or gods it is a personal statement thst the atheist does not believe in a god or gods

Your statement is that of an agnostic wich the statement that "I do not know"

All honest people should be agnostic IMHO

Stephen Fry doesn't need to explain anything, he's never made outlandish claims that any such god exists. Just like the rest of us, he's never been provided with evidence.

Re evidence, c.f mysteries being the point. You speak for yourself rather than the 'rest of us' in as much as this grouping includes people who are religious and would disagree with your outlook and idea of outlandish thinking.

As stated how can anyone possibly know until they expire?

A belief in a Supernatural being is not the same as knowing there is a supernatural being.

There are many marvels in this world. Some of which can be explained by science, some of which cannot.

I respect everyone’s belief, it doesn’t mean I support it.

Facts are Facts, whether you support them or not.

Divine intervention sought time after time looking for a late winner. Thinking about Tommy Burns,Jinkie and a pal Terry who was a die-hard Tim. The amount of times the goal has come has been incredible.

As stated mysteries... Dawkins would say chance but why would it keep happening..

🤔

ermm where in my post did i mention anything about what i believe in, please read it again

I simply stated why bring religion into it as you did. And like all the keyboard warriors you chose to mock me on here

As it happens yes i am a Christian, but that has nothing to do with the post.
