I guess it depends really.

Bit of escapism for some who maybe don’t feel powerful in other aspects of life and a compliment for those who like to give up control.

Like when a dad goes paint balling. Gets to be a soldier for a bit instead of packing cheese strings in pack up boxes for the kids.

I guess people have an inclination to be dominant in certain aspects of life but rarely all. Those that announce they are dominant in all are probably sociopathic or lying (to themselves). True dominance takes awareness and confidence.
