The end of Starmer that is.

Twenty councillors have quit Labour in protest at the party's direction under Sir Keir Starmer.

Hardly on the same scale as the mass resignations that played their part in Spaffo's demise.

Yet it's hard to see Starmer still being PM come the next election. The damage has been done and the toxic culture isn't going away. Sustained economic growth might not even be enough.

Populist extremists usually go full circle, meet, touch and morph into one another when they both go far enough in their fundamentalism 🤦🏽‍♂️. Not entirely sure she is *extreme* left, but don't think she's PM material....hang on, leadership and integrity are not 'Essential' in the job description nowadays! mind you, that goes for pretty much anyone on the current political horizon on this country...

Definition of stupidity is to keep doing the same thing and expect different results.

Conservatives fucked it up

Labour fucked it up

Tbh we have been in a fairly stable decline as a nation for over 60yrs.

No matter who is in charge things just get worse.

Entropy of GB Plc.

The public fall for the same old tropes time after time.

Would be nice if the fools in charge had the slightest clue how to manage the country.

Putting a young fool in charge of the NHS with millions of staff and ££billions of a budget.

And well run corp would laugh him out the door.

No one running these departments has the slightest clue, its frankly immoral.

Look after yourself and your family, its the only mantra, cos no matter the colour of the party in charge they dont give a shit about the normal guy on the street. We are only here to scrawl an X in a box to give them another 5yrs on the gravy train.

"We have First rather than Prime Ministers..."

We had 14 years of Tory politicians that were incompetent, will most likely be proven to be corrupt in some cases and a buffoon , followed by another unsuitable foil for the job that almost broke the economy in less than 6 weeks, then the City put Rishi in to steady the ship and he failed spectacularly as he has no charisma, meanwhile the Mones were taking their cut got too greedy and got caught, Cummings and the eye test, the PPI billions wasted and the Downing Street parties while ordinary people could not attend their loved ones funerals. The UK electorate had enough and booted you useless incompetent Tories to the kerb. Now you are facing the spectre of the Musk puppet Farage and all the undesirables of the right of centre eejits that will follow him and knock Kemi on her lovely ass. It's hardly the time to crow over the initial errors and poor PR of the new government if you are a true Conservative from the middle. Scottish independence may not be the dead 🦆 we think.

. Highly amusing even if grossly imaginative Actually Rishi in just 6 months started to reduce unemployment. Reduced interest rates, increased growth and steadied energy prices. All without further tax increases, and not take Ng money off the elderly and vulnerable and reduced to cave in to Union bosses hiked up demands. Thank you I enjoy being amusing about the Tory party, they are a great source of mirth to me.

Fact Bojo - Buffoon

Fact - Truss , foil that was a disaster always going to happen, the cheese speech just gave it away and should never have been near Downing Street.

Fact - Brexit has cost the country £14 billion.

Fact - Rishi was the city choice to keep the boat steady and repair the damage done by Trussenomics, no persona, no charisma, actually less than John Major /May.

Fact - Downing Street parties during lockdown when the public could not attend the funerals of their loved ones.

Fact - Billions of pounds wasted on inappropriate PPE.

Fact - Mone and her ilk caught and will face the long arm of the law and others of your party will too.

Fact - After 14 years of Tory clowns the UK electorate said enough is enough and you were quite rightly hammered by the Labour party landslide.

Fact - Musk and Farage are coming for your party and then the UK.

Fact - The centrist party of yesteryear that was the small c Conservatives is about to vanish.

Fact - I could go on... But you get the point.

Lastly the Americans had Paul Revere riding on his horse warning of the British invasion, the Tory party if they are to survive as a responsible and respected political force need their own Paul Revere and soon. Of course if you are in the Farage camp you will obviously not care and be looking forward to ousting Kemi and then going so far right with Musk , that we could turn into Rhodesia or worse ..

I am using the pejorative 'we' as I am a Scot and believe in being independent from the whole sorry mess you and people like you are about to make of this country and it's democratic existence.

If you are a Conservative and not a Farage clown then I apologize for saying that you are about to destroy a democracy, but if you are a Farage clown then I apologize for nothing and pity you and your gullibility in believing Reform (Musk) is the solution.

Although of course it may be the final solution.

Once you reach the top there is only one way to go and that is down. There is invariably speculation that whoever is prime minister or a party leader will fall sooner or later. A lot of people predicted Starmer would be ousted in 2021{?} after extremely poor local election results. He got lucky an survived. He might well do again despite having [allegedly] the worse ratings for a PM in living memory. Like it or not--and I can't stand the man--he has got a very large majority in parliament and there is no natural successor waiting in the wings.

Exactly. Local news and forgotten in a few days. Remember a whole local party executive somewhere quit when he was elected leader as he wasn't left-wing enough. Made no difference whatsoever. If ministers start quitting then that would be a different story but there is no sign of that happening yet.

"Thank you I enjoy being amusing about the Tory party, they are a great source of mirth to me.

Sous Alba

Mx . Fact. All the above are inaccurate personal rants.

Fact. End of my Rant 🤣"

Fact I don't agree with you and there is an awful lot of truth in each of them hence why your lot are out of government, if you are indeed a Tory or still not willing to admit to being a Reform chappie, or you just enjoy a good windup.

Yes.

As well as jimmy savile...

It would seem it was the cops and local social services departments that were failing to investigate rather than the CPS failing to change when the gangs were first reported on by the papers.

Several cops have been charged in relation to that now.

Starmer will get binned. Because all the people who were happy with the Tories letting everything go shit without telling anyone.

Now that we know how bad it is, Labour have had to try and clear up the mess with no money in the kitty.

But never mind. It was so much better back then and we can triumph in "Getting Brexit done".

The trouble with voting is the the sort of people who love hate, Farage, 30p Lee, Johnson, Little England, and Tories wil do what The Daily Mail and Sun tell them without any critical thought.

For those posting the Tories caused the problems in the NHS, I suggeest you google it and you will find that back in 1999, whilst Labour was in power, their was a major crisis with waiting times. 153,000 people had waited 26 weeks or more for a first consultation for example. It was debated in parliment, all the documents are there online to read.

In 1999, I tore the cartilage in my knee, I had to wait two years for an operation and in all that time, struggled to walk.

In 2017, NHS bosses feared a return back to 1999. Basically the NHS crisis is not soley the Tories fault, Labour is at fault themselves.

Starmer doesn't have the desire to actual take on the reforms to capital this country require. Neither do any of the other political leaders in the country currently. As it stands the British state will wobble like this between leaders and parties while the country dies.

If you can't take an axe to the evils of capital power in this country it will fade into nothingness.

More of what is known as a Palace Coup rather than a Coup d'Etat. Staged behind closed doors by MP, party grandees and officials. The MPs had always favoured Sunak. I suspect there was a bit of 'horse trading' in their final ballot to keep Penny Mordaunt off the final ballot that went out to party members, hoping Sunak would stand a better chance of winning against Liz Truss. So once Ms Truss was PM she did not have the parliamentary party solidly behind her, and when things started to go wrong in the City after the budget she orchestrated, she more or less go told to go.

I'm not convinced the Tories would win. I don't think anyone really likes them again. I think the result would be massive apathy and a turnout of around 30-40%. I guess that would potentially lead to a Tory landslide.

The countries economy is in a very poor state, redressing that is a slow and painful process. The problems are perfectly illustrated by the posts in this thread. Politics and opinions are too polarised and on almost all cases everyone is either insulting the other or talking past the other. No one is listening to the other or considering the others point of view and then constructively debating the point.

Immigration is a case in point. The small boat arrivals have been whipped up into a major point but the sheer number of other immigration hardly rates a mention. Less than 5% of immigration is from small boat crossing, 95% from issued visas. Yet the vast majority of press coverage is about the effect of small boat migration. Why is that? Because it suits an agenda. Much of the opinion is formed by the press, who are unelected and have their own agendas with vested interests.

One thing I think you can guarantee is that there wont be another election. Labour have got a vast majority in the commons and they are not going to risk sacrificing that before they need to. So we are talking 2029 before we go to the polls.

Even if there was an election called this Spring Labour would probably win it with a lower turn-out, a lower percentage of the votes cast and a smaller majority in the Commons.

I’m referencing his close relations obviously to relatives, to prominent bishops, DJ’s, pardons for members of parliament (both sides). The lack of accountability when being made to provide witness statements to high court.

You can argue that he would not have known or the probability of coming into contact with so many convicted and accused could be due to his networking and position but we are an average of the company we keep. Oh and I’m not suggesting that he is btw.

It’s all documented and takes a quick Google my man.

As you say Wild, Labour's huge majority means that we all have to endure a rough and bumpy ride until '29!

However, hypothetically if there was a Spring election, I can see Labour getting decimated, Reform gaining a huge number of seats, but none of the main parties gaining an overall majority, but the solution being that Reform and the Conservatives form a coalition. With Starmer and Rayner's performance, Labour are very much out of favour, the Conservatives are still less than widely popular, Farage and Reform seem to be offering what many are asking for, although there is still widespread uncertainty about them and what they are all about.

"The problems are perfectly illustrated by the posts in this thread.

Maybe because it's illegal?

34000 plus came into the country illegally that's 34000 people we know nothing about.

How many of those who say they're seeking asylum do you think are genuine? They all offer a big fat pay cheque for the specialist lawyers who are falling over each other to represent them, paid for by us taxpayers of course.

...

The 34,000 include those who are seeking asylum which isn't an illegal act. The figure includes people with documents. They have made the journey across the channel according to Home Office data.

Yes, there are males-often in their 20's/30's- without documents but it utterly misleading to say theres 34,000 people who could be anyone from anywhere.

And the more such myths take hold, the less likely rational debate becomes.

That's assuming Starmer will last the 4.5 year course which seems increasingly unlikely as his once loyal supporters are now beginning to see through his erroneous performance and are turning against him! The tide is turning and will wash Starmer back out to sea where he can greet his friends attempting to gain illegal entry through our shores!

Stop the net zero bullshit

Stop pandering to Global Elitists

"We have First rather than Prime Ministers...

Sous Alba.

Mx

The only thing Starmer has reduced is any chance of reducing illegalnimmigrants"

That is all completely untrue.

What is it with you lot and people seeking refuge? The numbers are tiny compared with our EU neighbours, they make not a jot of difference, they’re not nicking our jobs or houses or putting the NHS on its knees. These are all policy decisions by Gov’t. FFS see thru the boat people smokescreen and start asking politicians why they’re not taxing the very wealthy, why they allow huge corporations to avoid paying their tax burden and why they keep accepting gifts (bribes) of sports and music tickets worth £thousands when they’re extremely well remunerated. Perhaps also ask why we spend upwards of half a billion on keeping one family in a life of luxury or why we have a second chamber (only beaten in numbers by China) packed with cronies getting paid £300+ to turn up, sit and listen for 30 mins, have a massively subsidised slap up lunch and then go home.

Being voted in was technically the beginning of the end. It always is, but you just don’t know how far away the end is.

I’ve got to say though that the Labour Party doesn’t seem to be trying very hard to delay the fateful day when someone else gets their hands on the reins of power

"One thing in Starmers favour is the utterly lightweight leader the Tories have in Badenoch. She has made little impact so far and it's hard to see that changing anytime soon."

Sadly with the two main parties having such lacklustre leaders they are playing right into the hands of the odious Farage.

"I think he's a bellend. But give him time to make fully formed mistakes, he won an election and this is a democracy.

Exactly , we had 14 years of clowns, 6 months is not the lifetime of a government, let's see where we are in 4 years of a Labour government.

Mx

We'll all be four years older (that's 6 months in gay years)

Being bi I can't ascribe to that one , although I can be an honorary gay and say that in 4 years I guess if that's the norm. Mx "

Being bi...?

An honorary gay...?

I'd say you were more of a they/them!

You been asleep for the past 14 years while the Tories decimated our country? You honestly think that bringing them back is a good idea?

"The problems are perfectly illustrated by the posts in this thread.

Maybe because it's illegal?

34000 plus came into the country illegally that's 34000 people we know nothing about.

"

Sorry that 34000 is government numbers, are you saying the government is lying?

I never suggested anything of the kind. What I stated was that it's simply not true and misleading to argue that we know nothing of all of the 34,000.

"The end of Starmer that is.

Twenty councillors have quit Labour in protest at the party's direction under Sir Keir Starmer.

20 twats who wouldn't actually be councillors on their high horses if Sir Keir Starmer hadn't turned the Labour Party around and got rid of the Tory charlatans that were in power for 14 disastrous years."

Really? So you are saying the Labour Party was nothing before stammer.

It was at a low ebb following Corbyn's defeat in 2019. A party that has allowed extremism to embed itself at local constituency level.

The poster didn't however say anything about a state of nothingness so to speak.

Which brings us back nicely to the point of this thread, the above political landscape is ripe for exploitation by Nige and Kekius Maximus, if people are hoodwinked by these odious extremists where no compromise is possible and it solely becomes a one sided system then Democratic principles will not be eroded they will be lost.

Don’t recall any Tory Government having killing one in ten of the population in their manifesto ?

Though Rachel might achieve it this Winter …..🥶
