I had my regular health check this morning and the clinician mentioned that there is an increase in gonorrhea and chlamydia in younger service users those on prep who think it is a panacea for all sti. It was an interesting chat.

There's also an increase in screening for STIs due to Prep

A nurse told me this when I last tested: that although prep is a safeguard against hiv/aids, a consequence is the increase in screening because the general sti numbers have increased, sadly.

The only way to prevent everything is to abstain from all sexual activity.

None of us are going to do that so be sensible lads. Prep ONLY guards against HIV.

I think the OP meant other STI not HIV.

I bottom, and will only be fucked if a guy is wearing a condom, only had one objecton in 15years. I'm careful whom I meet, if a profile name is cumwhoreslut or zillions of verifications, BB in interests avoid. I enjoy oral without a condom, and perhaps I've been lucky as no STI from that ( have regular check ups) but at the end of the day it's my choice, my life.

Clinic have told me various things. One was that Chlamydia is pretty general across all service users not just MSMs.

Other was that oral Syphilis is common and often clusters among bi men. She said they come back with repeat infections!

Last time I was there, I could hear some guy on the phone just about beg for an appointment. Receptionist saying

" But you live ourside our catchment area Sir".

It's like this: either limit it to wanking each other, or periodically test even if you're a staunch safe sex guy.

I was on the original test trials of PrEP in Wales...the study was not for the effectiveness of the drug, but to see if there was an increase in other STi,s.

The conclusion was that it made little difference... problem was the test group where mostly people who practiced safe sex unlike now
