What is American? Most non-indigenous Native Americans [for year dubbed Red Indians] are of immigrant descent over the last 4 centuries. Plus a mixture of various nationalities and races. The Kennedy's were of Irish descent. Roosevelt and Eisenhower are both Dutch surnames. Obama was half Kenyan [I think] Biden, Nixon, Clinton and Reagan all claimed some Irish ancestry. Even George Washington was descended from a Northamptonshire squire. The list goes on.

White Americans are made up of European ancestry. Irish, German, Dutch etc. That’s why I’ve never agreed with the term they use for black Americans by calling them African American and white Americans are just called American. But hey ho, it’s just the way it is.
