"I can't wait to go to my local on Sunday lunchtime as usual to save myself 3p !"

I bet you don’t. Pubs will have to raise beer price to cover NI increase.

Most pubs mother make about 12 pence profit on each pint as it is.

Why can't they introduce a tiered tax on domestic rent? Unless your a registered charity, 20%tax on domestic rental income over 10k. introduced over 15 years, and climbing to 50% on rental income over 75k.

Add to that a reintroduction of minimum housing standards with risk of forfeiture for persistent bad land lords where they own more than five properties.

Would solve the housing crisis and the drain on the economy through off shore landlords and investment brokers.

Banks would still get their money so no massive risk to financial sector. It would simple stop domestic housing from being a national extractive, speculative investment.

My local put 5p on a pint of ale 2 weeks ago so the 1p reduction isn’t going to make any difference

Wonder just how many pubs will knock a penny off beer. About 1% if that.

Wow! I'm quids in! Rack up those pints, I'm getting pissed tonight!!

I don't know what I'm going to spend this huge windfall on.

A tenth of a packet of crisps?

A small quarter inch screw?

The possibilities are endless.

North London (outer)

I drink alcohol-free beer and other drinks, and don't frequent pubs. I doubt it will have any effect on me
