I'm too old with knackered legs and arthritic hands, if I wasn't in this condition I wouldn't have to be conscripted.

This country is not worth fighting for , as someone else said let all the people who are sailing across every day do the fighting for it if they think it's that good.

Putin (in part) went to war at the mere threat of Ukraine joining NATO… so, i can’t imagine he’ll respond too well to 10’s of thousands of European troops rocking-up on his border… peacekeeping or otherwise.

So, it seems an example of desperate political posturing to give the impression of decisiveness and toughness, in the hope to regain the initiative from Trump, yet knowing it is highly unlikely to ever be called to do it.

Totally agree. In my opinion he has made himself look stupid, given he's committing our troups without knowing anything about the US Russian talks.

I wonder if he's taken this position because he's going to the us in the next week.

Hope he arrives with his arse lubed up ready for trump. Hes made himself look so weak.

I left 2006 and think we would be in trouble if it got to the stage of calling people up who have been out nearly 20 years lol.

But saying that I'd ignore any call up papers for Ukraine, I'd rather get jailed than fight for Ukraine a country I couldn't give a shit about or for a useless drip of a pm lol!

I do agree with quite a lot you have to say on this forum but not that. Imagine, we have the idiot that is Trump negotiating with Russia with a very real potential to inadvertently give them a green light to invade Europe. How would you feel if the Russians were knocking at your door?

Far fetched? Maybe, maybe not, time will tell. But think for one minute about Starmer, not the best admittedly but he does want to be a bit more popular and the more people that openly show we are ready and willing to stand up to tyranny the better. A new world order is a very real possibility and now is not the time to be caught napping again, it may be about Ukraine this year but next year?

I don't buy into that, people saying Russia will be coming for the UK next after Ukraine.

They never have before, when it was the USSR (who could've if they wanted) they never did.

Home guard, if they raise the maximum age a bit...would be happy to be of use, but my skills are well out of date. Maybe wing it and become a padre?
