Considering everything that's going on or brewing around the world what are your thoughts or predictions for the next five to ten years?

We have the Israel/ Iran backed Palestine conflict.

Obviously the Russian/Ukrain war.

China/North Korea saber rattling.

And throw five years of Trump into the mix for good measure with his posturing over Canada,Greenland and the Panama canal.

Like it or not all these things could have a huge effect on the UK.

For what it's worth I think we are likely to be much worse off in five to ten years time.

I hope I'm wrong.

We are witnessing end stage capitalism. The USA simply hasn't the resources to maintain its current way of living let alone grow richer.

Used to work in an environment where such requests were common. We used to think (if not exactly reply to the senior bigwigs asking):

One year: We can make a reasonable assessment.

Five years: An educated guess might be possible, but stress on the guess

Ten years: Your guess is as good as mine, but I think my guess might hold a bit more water.

Twenty years: Toss a coin.

In 1987 my boss, an experienced hand with 30 years experience, predicted that the USSR would be gone in 10 years, possibly even sooner. His American opposite number called him "insane" to his face. By the end of 1999..

But I fear that China will attack Taiwan sooner than later. If Trump can throw one democracy under the bus he will find it easier to do it twice.
