Looking to start using a cage to delve further into submission and restraint. Does anyone have any recommendations for where to begin? Best ones they've used? Brands? What material to go with? What size to start with? Any useful tips?

Another thread mentioned a clever use of gaffer tape. So maybe take it to one hundred and three uses..?

Your best bet is to go onto a website such as House of Denial (UK-based) who have a good range at reasonable prices and helpful information. I've bought three metal cages from them and have found them to be excellent. I started out with a plastic cage (bought elsewhere) but although I like the aesthetic, the metal ones are (in my opinion) better and easier to wear, especially for longer term. Good luck.

Always go for a metal cage, much more durable and satisfyingly weighty

Visit Lock the Cock on the web for a good selection.

Getting the ring size right is the hard bit.

I wear a Bon4 Micro. Metal cage, not too expensive, and comes with lots of different size rings and pins to help get a comfortable fit. Have been able to wear it for over a month without taking it off, whereas most other cages cause me issues after about a week.
