Burnham on sea

The Online Safety Act is now in force.

So called "small but risky services” which are often forums, have to submit illegal harms risk assessments to the Online Safety Act’s regulator, Ofcom, by March 31.

Ofcom has a list of 17 high-priority "illegal content" that needs to be considered:

1. Terrorism

2. Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSEA)

a. Grooming

b. Image-based Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)

c. CSAM URLs

3. Hate

4. Harassment, stalking, threats and abuse

5. Controlling or coercive behaviour

6. Intimate image abuse

7. Extreme pornography

8. Sexual exploitation of adults

9. Human trafficking

10. Unlawful immigration

11. Fraud and financial offences

12. Proceeds of crime

13. Drugs and psychoactive substances

14. Firearms, knives and other weapons

15. Encouraging or assisting suicide

16. Foreign interference

17. Animal cruelty

I can think of a few topics and posts that will be caught here, e.g. sharing your wife's pics, calling for people to be shot

Ealing

I’ve also wondered about this

Hopefully the fab powers that be will take some sensible precautions to mitigate the risks which should make the experience better for everyone and ensure we can all continue enjoying fab for years to come

That’s a very far reaching list and Fabguys (and I imagine some individuals who use the site) could potentially see themselves on a sticky wicket so to speak as a result of some forum discussion topics.

I imagine the likes of Ofcom can offer training modules or sheets for what moderators need to do to keep their sites on the right side of the law.

I get the impression FG is already pretty strict about allowing any kind of content that could conceivably become an exhibit in a court case

I would hope things are okay for us on here as sites like this are the only way some guys can get some sexual pleasure in a love less marriage.

Sincerely hope so as the site in general and the forums gives me so much pleasure (and ideas) so I would hate to see it go the way of the dodo.

Any cum pigs (17) looking for humiliation, hard use and punishment (4,5,6)and being called a slut (3) may have to think up some new euphemisms.

As has been pointed out by opponents of the Online Safety Act, these categorisations are so ill-defined, potentially wide-ranging and vague that policing them will be all but impossible in real life. And who on FabGuys is going to be able to police any of this?

Is saying you can’t stand those who shave their pubes or you hate skinny bitches a Hate Crime? If you write that you like to be overpowered and gang-fucked are you encouraging Coercive Behaviour? P0ppers are a psychoactive drug - will you be banned for saying in your profile if you like them?

It’s meaningless nonsense. Nothing will happen. Nothing will change.

It skirts on the edge of denying free speech. For instance 'illegal immigration' is a fact and one that is a serious and genuine concern for many of our citizens. are they to be muzzled?

Sadly, the people making these decisions are usually one a cabal of puritanical Karens, whose understanding of technology is so limited that they have to ask their assistants to print out their e-mails.

I would assume the likes of human trafficking and unlawful immigration, for example, can surely be discussed. Is the "offence" not when you actively arrange or encourage such things?

I don't think they are interested in your view (or mine). It's people traffickers they're after

North London (outer)

It's strange that Fabguys has never clarified how they will work with this new act, in particular the requirement for age verification.

If things aren't sorted out I can see a few ISPs getting the jitters. The legislation is extra territorial as well, although whether or not this is workable (for other sites), I do not know.
