" Just checked the web site as well and I agree its not totally biased but the current applications are ONLY from ethnic minorities. It then goes on to say stuff about these applications going through to interview stage an then held until "other applications" are received when recruitment is open. Apparently only the best will be chosen regardless of ethnicity !! So why not just open the applications to everyone?? It still stinks to me! | |||

"Before my time probably as don't remember it but at one time some pubs, hotels and B&B had signs say No Blacks, No Irish etc etc. Big hue and cry about it and rightly so. But surely this police force is just as bad." and no dog's Cardiff tiger bay as it was some shops had signs in windows no coloured served here and that was the black people great sense of humour, but it was not very nice back then I remember getting called ni##er meat because I had black friends .Just made me more determined to have more of them tbh x | |||

There is only one way to redress the balance and sadly that's conditions sometimes being attached to applications. Otherwise the force stays firmly rooted in the 20th century. "It isn't a thing. Positive discrimination is still discrimination illegal under the equalities act 2010. Companies can say applications from ....will be prioritiesed. Usually because they lack expertise or insight into that area. That doesn't then mean they will not accept applications from other people. It's just this horrible narrative of white male fragility. Clutching pearls at making life even a little bit better for other people.
