Not really a golf fan but currently watching the final round of the US Masters.

McIlroy started the day leading by 2 shots but is now one behind after the first two holes. If he wins he'll be only the sixth player in history to manage the grand slam, let's hope he holds his nerve.

It was an astonishing evening of golf. Always wanted MciLroy to win but also would have been very happy for Justin Rose to have won, he played amazingly all weekend and 10 birdies on the final day, wow!

It was a typical Mcilroy round of golf, did not do himself any favours and blew his chance on the 13th and that final putt on the 18th but had some unbelievable shots.

I must admit I was filled up for him, sad I know.

Just hope this now enables him to win more…

Rory was nominated previously for SPOTY but claimed at the time he had forgotten all about it ..he also said it had become 'just a popularity contest'. He will certainly be in the running for RTE Sportstar of the year again, think he has won it twice before.
