Blocking Etiquette!

A guy joins the site this morning. He sends me a wink. As usual I thank him for the wink!

He says can I meet now? I don't do quick meets. I ask him to read my profile as it contains all relevant info about me.

2 minutes later he's Blocked me!

Does he think I will stalk him or something.

You shouldn't be allowed to Block someone unless they are abusive, overly persistent or similar negative messaging.

Grr....

You will get used to it. You will also come across many timewasters and you will cotton on to the clues of a timewaster.

The common excuse is "tomorrow".

That is YOUR fault……..🤣

For not being available immediately to satisfy his sexual needs - because you’re working perhaps? ? unlike a lot on here it seams!

What do you expect? 🤣

I do know what you mean, though!

I first joined in January this year.

I know I'm an aquired taste. One reason why I don't make first contact. I assume any guy has read my profile first and sort of knows what he's getting!

But I do think the site owners should lay down reasonable guidelines as to when you can block someone.

His loss, he'll never get my cock😁.

Last year I was chatting to someone fir 3 months, every day, several times a day...he then had a spat with someone....then blocked me!!!

To block after all that time is rude....but like others have said we should be free to block when we want.

I personally only block if they get abusive....

He messaged for a meet now

You don't do quick meets and told him to read your profile.

He did and decided you weren't compatible.

Perfectly adequate reason to be blocked.

Stop being so precious

Would you rather he didn't block you, yet kept sending you 'meet now?' messages whenever your pic popped up?

Blocking is a simple way to out profiles. I routinely block other local bottom profiles simple so they don't appear in my feed. It's just a tool. It's not a personal insult.

OK guys,

I get where you're coming from. And the reasons given so far I understand.

From a personal point of view. I'm not a pushy guy at all. And would only Block a guy for the reasons given in my original posting.

As yet I've never had to Block a guy. Everyone has so far been polite and respectful towards me.

I guess that was a reason I started this thread.

Saves a lot of messing about. I don't root them out, they visit my profile, they are not of interest. Simple.

Your saying, "if I can't have sex with him"

I don't want to know he even exists?

I know this site is the "Enabling" device so we can all have a chance to hook up!

Blocking is just a useful tool..

eg If I've approached someone and been declined, I'll usually block them, not cos I'm offended, but be cause I'll forget the conversation and probably try again a few months later..

It saves wasting each others time

Another good feature is being able to make private notes on people

Why does anyone get upset if they're blocked. It means they have not got any more interest in you.

So why would you bother wanting to hear or meet that person if so?

Same, there's noone on my block list.

I know some guys block profiles they're not compatible sexually with, but Ive chatted with fabbers who are nice funny and interesting guys, I just don't want sex with them.

personally i use blocking as a kind of filter to mark those that I would have no interest in. For example I'm into chubby and larger built guys and if I come across a profile of a slim guy, then I use the block so I don't end up clicking on them again at a later date. It also avoids giving someone the wrong impression having visited their profile more than once by accident. I do explain this in my profile so not to cause offence. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

Sounds like he blocked you so he won’t mistakenly message you again in the future. He thinks you are incompatible.

It’s far more satisfactory than him messaging you every now and then.

This is a hook up site. Not a dating site.

If you were chatting to someone in a bar to pick them up and it wasn’t working, you’d move on and not try to pick them up again.

Why take time to question the unanswerable (there's no major, or even minor, philosophical issue here)? Personally, I just (usually, but not always) reciprocate with my own block and forget about it: no point in getting ANY "knickers in a right old flap." 😉

I Block for a number of reasons

- don’t like your profile or pic

- you are far too persistent & intruding

- you are too far away from me n nothings ever going to happen between us

- you bore me & I don’t want to waste my time exchanging messages

- you are arrogant or disrespectful…not necessary to me but to others you have replied to / tried to dis in these forums

That’s just a few, there will be many other individual reasons…

I don’t need to justify who I block, it’s a good facility on here & I chose to use it …a lot. So if I haven’t blocked you yet, your doing well !

If someone is making you waste time on inane chat, he disappears midflow from the conversation (allow a day or ten for a short message 'sorry, had to leave unexpectedly' or something reasonable), or you've concluded has no credible intention to meet, or is a persistent and consistent pest, a timewaster, or shows unreasonable or inappropriate behaviour, then do reach for the nuke button 💣💥. Certain catégories of user I have routinely blocked, not out of personal animosity, simply due to the fact i would never entertain meeting with x, y or z type of user. By the same token, I have often found myself blocked for reasons I can't fathom but I imagine are similar to the latter above. It's a little disappointing but I take them as part of the territory 🫸 🤷🏽‍♂️
