Que , sera ,sera ……100 years ago we were just recovering from WW1 and heading to WW2 , think we’ve been lucky to get to 2025 without a major world conflict . Sadly it’s the nature of humanity and possibly natures way of population control …….

I hate it when this happens. One extra minute in the deep fat fryer and all would be well.

Those things go in cycles.

We always need an enemy at the gate to galvanise and discipline public opinion.

Otherwise the vacuum is filled by bad actors.

The USSR served that purpose for 70+ years.

Al Quaeda briefly took its place.

We need something more threatening now than just waifs and strays in small boats to get us.

A bogey man to keep us afraid.

Holly WilloughBooby.

Fewer white dog turds on council estates.

Too much white chocolate. (Yucky over-saccharined crud.)

Chris Packham.

Ed Davey doing stunts on water.

No Toyah in the charts.

Feng Shui.

No Spangles for the children of today.

Caroline Lucas’s paint-stripper whining.

Ne’er-do-wells.

De-extinction.

People shaving their pubes.

“Sharing” bags of fruit pastilles. (Fuck off!)

Yes of course. Always have been but until I got older, wasn't as aware of them. They weren't questions though.

I'm always interested in opinions providing they aren't rude like some people on here.

"Hungary recently banned gay pride. God knows what's next ? Frightening times indeed"

Orban has demanded it be replaced with Goulash Pride where his subjects are forced to parade their joy of ethno-centric cuisine in a self-flagellating orgy of autocratic bondage. It’s obscene.

Some countries control their immigration rather well. Others not so, and that's always through their government's choice.

This is not standing back and seeing what's happening.

This is being spoon fed a list of subjects to obsess and worry about.

The only point of looking at news headlines is to see what they're NOT talking about.

If you really look from outside the box, you will see that any assets or wealth possessed by the lower/middle class is being stripped away from under their noses whilst they're being kept in ignorance.

With societies being split and divided into nice tasty morsels to be digested in turn.

Maybe you're not concerned, perhaps you're not in one of the most vulnerable groups, or perhaps you're one of the useful idiots who think they're safe and won't be affected.

Tariffs for example fall disproportionately on the poor.

The super rich do not tend to shop at primark or TEMU.

Govt now has access to banking and savings records.

More than £6,000 in savings affects any benefit entitlement.

A pensioner with life savings over £12,000, perhaps saved for financial emergencies or to pay funeral and medical care will loose pension benefits.

Carrying over £999 in cash could be seen as a crime now and it can be seized.

China has banned crypto exchanges and seized $1.6B in crypto, about 10% of all crypto held in China.

Govts have seized gold before now famously in the USA @$35 per ounce.

Still think your safe and won't be affected ?

Obviously the super rich and mega corporations have brilliant wheezes like trust funds, offshore accounting and can operate extrateritoroally and are thus exempt.

Systematically important financial institutions are practically untouchable from criminal prosecution.

A post modernist feudalism is being ushered in, where the modern peasants will own very little and be travel restricted, so effectivly villeins or serfs.

I'm waiting for some sumptuary laws to be introduced, perhaps Starmers petrol V-12's for the rich, limited range EV's for the peasants is the start.

Firstly, I object to being called an idiot. Who the hell are you to insult people? .

However , your points are adding to the list which I don't disagree with, and I am of the vulnerable and not cosy in any wealth.

By standing back I meant to just pause and seeing what's bad happening in the world.

You obviously miss interpreted my post and I request that if you do respond to people who are not rude then have some respect.

By your rant and rudeness you have just proved to what I am saying

If you choose to identify as a useful idiot who thinks he won't be affected, so be it.

It was not a comment directed at you, but to that management class who help to implement these changes thinking they will be safe.

See the Yuri Bezmenov warning for reference.

There's quite a bit to be concerned about, and most of them are related to dreadful lack of income (for both the government in taxes and you and me) and that's mostly because a few handful of people have persuaded governments not to tax them enough.

However, society has survived such things before and life goes on. Not as easily as it was for a few decades after WW2, but even in previous periods of great inequality, we had artistic revivals and culture for all.

We all know what it should mean vs what it actually means.

I'm woke if you use its original definition.
