I always used to carry them. Then I started on PrEP so now my HIV protection is chemical not physical.

When arranging a meet I am open about this and also clear that I am happy to wear a condom if the bottom prefers. At least where I live PrEP is so ubiquitous that guys who use condoms are in a minority. As such they usually expect to meet PrEP users who may not have a supply of condoms.

So of late it is rarer than previously to meet guys who want be to wrap up; when we do they tend to have some though I usually have some on my person too.

If you want to use them you should carry them. Even if you don’t want to use them carrying them will maximise your opportunities.

I would say, if you expect to have safe sex you should have condoms with you. You can’t rely on others when it comes to your own sexual health. Similarly if you’re going bareback you need to make sure you are the one regularly tested and on PrEP and PEP you can’t rely on others being tested.
