Happy Pride Month.

Celebrated in June cos the first brick at the Stonewall Inn was thrown in the June it lead to the Stonewall Riots and eventually getting our rights through many protests around the world and Gay Pride Marches .

I don't agree with all the extra genders, letters and flags being added on an almost daily basis and Pride used to be a weekend event.

A month is silly and it's just a corporate event now, not in the Middle East of course...

Happy Pride month everyone.

Let’s all revel in the gratuitous rainbows on commercial buildings and all those companies desperate for our pink pound. (Or pink dollar or euro if that is how you roll.)

Remember that it is at its heart still a protest and that protest is as you see it - and being visible and being authenticallly ourselves is per se a great form of protesting against those who would have us hidden.

Showing ourselves is a great way to show the way to quiltbaggers locked in a closet - seeing us being us may given them the courage to be who they really are.

Pride is important. Pride is fun. Enjoy the month.

I don't agree with Pride Month per-se. Think about it. Xmas day. Valentines day. VE day, etc, etc, but Pride Month? That's excessive. But on the other hand.....

There are (and will be) Pride events all across the Country. These events only last for a day. I don't have a problem with that in any way, shape or form (hence the 'per-se' bit). So go out and enjoy a months worth of day events!

Whilst a momentous achievement worthy of celebration / respect, and whilst also respecting the job of inclusion is not complete, a whole month for Pride is self-indulgent. A day is more appropriate.

After all, the fight of women’s rights, and the on-going fight for their equality, don't get a month. The abolition of slav-ery, and the on-going fight against racism, does not get a month. Our fallen soldiers, from so many horrific wars, don't get a month. So I struggle to understand or support a whole month for Pride.

In fact, I fear such self-indulgence, given all the other problems in the world, now looks more and more like an outdated bandwagon. One that is seemingly tone-deaf to a changing world mood.

As such, I’d question whether it now does more harm, than good, to ‘the cause’.

I don't find the pride thing an embarrassment.

The only embarrassment are the few individuals who go over the top.

You know what I mean. I used to participate in many pride events but don't go now as I can't stand for so long a time due to spinal stenosis

I'm neither for or against it. If you enjoy it and want to celebrate it then do so. Doubt it will have much affect on me. About the only reason it has caught my attention so far has been the miserable moaners on social media saying they will boycott businesses that display the rainbow flag. I would say 'how sad' but then I would probably boycott any business displaying a Labour or Reform flag/sticker/poster.

There are no events within an easy radius to where I live so it is hardly going to make any difference to me. I've got a bit sceptical of the whole LGBT+++ thingy now since it seems to included just about every weird group that is not 100% straight.
