I was disappointed as I had great expectations for him as the doctor. Thought he would bring something new and vibrant to the show.

Sadly it seems to highlight that once getting the message across becomes more important than entertaining the audience then said audience feels like they are being lectured and just up sticks and go elsewhere.

Seems to be happening a lot in TV/film at the moment and studios need to start listening to their paying customers!

Number one it's Doctor not Dr...it says Doctor on screen

Number 2 he's perfectly competent as an actor...if anything the variable scripts didn't stretch his abilities as an actor far enough

All I know is my local cinema had to open a second screen to show the finale last weekend which says to me they wanted to see the leading man on the big screen

Tennant attracted viewers who didn't really like Dr Who but liked him and his work. And when he left many viewers stopped watching. I think it's a show that truly relies upon the lead actor. I know many Dr Who fans hated Eccleston. They are a fickle bunch...
