I agree, I look after my own health and take my precautions.

However I do think that an alarming number of people probably dont think like that.

I check every 3 months with a postal kit from Frisky Wales. You gotta remember too if you revolve in gay circles you are often very much more aware than a curious bi guy not getting it at home that has a quick fumble.

As others have said look after your own health and don’t trust what others say unless they can prove it.

Also how often you get tested really only needs to depend on how often you have sex with anyone. If for example the last time was 9 months ago do you really need to test get tested every 3 months? Get tested after and if all clear leave it until the next time. Of course if you are having sex with others a lot then you need to be tested more regularly.

I’m not asking when did YOU get checked simply to guess how many men in a 100 get checked.

When I last went to the clinic in April to get checked

( as one has to be every 3months if taking prep daily)

A nurse told me that only abut 35 out of 100 bother to get tested and some only when they become ill or it’s discovered by blood test for another reason.

Unlike some of the other people here who are on Prep, my provider only requires me to be tested every six months. For my own peace of mind I take two other tests per year, postal and evenly spaced between my Prep tests.

If you are on prep it's not just about STDs, they also check kidney and liver function to make sure you are tolerating the meds

If a nurse who actually is an expert in the matter has told you.

Why you asking on a gay site where only people who get tested will answer?

One tests every day the other tests if their honest with themselves and serious about sexual health.

I get checked every 3 months. It’s great to have the results come through for own peace of mind. I would hate to put anyone else at risk. Although I do love a good bareback session I’m fully aware of the risks I take. It’s absolutely about respect nothing else

Not sure but im big on this safety is a must testing regular I think if you presume everyone isnt tested and risk assess it like that then your in a better mind frame but all it takes is one person.
