Farnborough

Cream first then jam in Devon,

Versus

Jam first then cream in Cornwall.

Does this ruling apply to West Country man-fun?

Lube first then jizz in Devon,

Versus

Jizz first then lube in Cornwall.

Asking for a friend about to go on holiday.

Being a sort of honorary Cornishman [born there. Lived there for the first 4 years of my life. Been a frequent visitor ever since] obviously I side with the Cornish. Butter first, then jam and finally cream. The Cornish reckon the Devonians put the cream first because they are too mean to put any butter on their scones

I wonder how Nigel Farage and 30p Lee eat their scones

I actually had scones last night....I always put the cream on firts simply because I find it easier to plonk a dollop of jam on top of the cream rather than the other way around...I also eat each slice of scone separately rather than squish the 2 together as a sandwich....or is that another debate..lol?

Butter? I have no allegiance to Devon or Cornwall but if I'm having scones it's strawberry jam and then clotted cream. I have no desire for double fat.

I’ve never been to Cornwall or Devon

But I like to put strawberry jam first on both sides of a halved scone, then clotted cream. Surely the cream doubles as butter?

A very nice treat, whatever!

Butter, jam and a dollop of clotted cream, seems to be the logical approach, it was the method that Trelawney used, I'm told! 😁

The Devon/Cornwall 60s/70s music festival has been cancelled this year over an arguement about whether the Cream or the Jam should go first.

They've had a change of heart after a couple of other bands from the '60's & early '70's have promised to reform. Bread will be opening the teatime set, followed by Marmalade, and if there's enough demand Marmalade will be performing some of their earlier songs from the time they were known as The Gaylords.

In Hampshire we stir it all together before slapping it on, just to annoy the yokels in the West Country...

Not surprised. Once did an 8 week hotel management holiday relief in a Hampshire hotel. Strange locals with even stranger habits.

I go for butter first.

Then Jam as it is easier to spread on the butter

Then clotted cream on top of the jam.

Cream, then jam, no butter for me, and I prefer plain, slightly warm scones to fruit scones . Typing this is making me salivate 😆
