"Probably the same as us tax payers and maybe more. They get houses for free while British born people are on streets homeless. Why else do thousands cross over every week from fance." On average around 600 - 700 cross a week. Around 30,000 to 40,000 annually. They cross for all sorts of reasons mainly because we bombed their countries, they have family here and they speak English. They get £49.18 a week towards toiletries, food and clothes if the accomodation provided includes meals the weekly allowance is reduced to £8.86. 1000 people a day signing on for universal credit and making no effort to get back in to work that is truly unsustainable reform is needed!! We are an outlier in the western world where our workforce hasn't returned to pre-pandemic levels, reform is needed. Where I think they are on a sticky wicket is with PIP, that's an in work benefit for disabled people who do have a higher cost of living due to greater needs

The same way that anecdotally most asylum seekers housed near me appear to be family groups and not young single (so-called ‘fighting age’) males, not that you know it from the constant social media rage.

"So starmer wants to push ahead with punishing the disabled and ignoring his MP's. Why not just stop giving handouts to immigrants and foreigners that is bound to save more. " I'm just listening to a guy in a wheelchair who currently receives pip but will not if these reforms go ahead. He says the system does need reform and could save money but these reforms go too far, they need to take longer to work out a different change. He also says that he runs some social media help pages and every single one of them gets taken over by people claiming that it would be enough money if it wasn't for immigrants. And that they are totally wrong! So well done.

"Number of issues relating to this Gordon Brown during his time as chancellor created tax credits Which meant tax payer subsidies poor wages More kids you had meant more money Then the latest trend of ADSD & SEND All generate more free money Some cases families getting mobility cars saying kids can’t walk to school Then those who are on drugs claiming DLA So some people have took the piss and abused the system You often find many disabled people want to work and extra money helps as on low wages Many pensioners never bothered to claim AA or pension credit as believed they can manage And the golden key to risking coming here in boats is the benefits and help compared to other European countries So some taking the piss means those whom need it will suffer again The policy is target everyone rather than the piss takers " One of the issues with the benefits system for disabled people who want to work is that you are limited to the number of hours you can work per week before you start to loose some of the benefits. For example if you can only get minimum wage job and work full time it probably won’t cover your rent but you end up losing housing benefit. Same with caregivers getting (i think) it is caters allowance earn £1 over the threshold and you loose the lot. If they looked at those issues and found better ways to avoid cliff edge situations then they could help people back into work and reduce SOME benefit payments at the same time. Also from what some friends on disability benefits told me, they need to have phone lines with real people to help resolve the screwups that DWP are making pushing people on to Universal Credit. Their Crap Intelligence chat bot is shit by all accounts.

"How much do immigrants and foreigners get in hand outs?" A fair bit, especially if you include the cost of temporary housing. Even more once they're placed in permanent housing.

You make some dumb, unfounded, sweeping statement that all the people coming across the channel are from countries the UK has bombed (I must have missed our bombing raids on Albania or Eritrea or Vietnam). As soon as you receive any blowback, you start accusing people of being “white supremacist”. You’re an absolute pastiche. Or not working, or having families with a large number of children that soak up benefits. When it comes to housing any many other matters though, we really need to look after our own a little more. A prime example of how housing is allocated can be determined by, and it's a very large elephant in the room, looking at the victims of Grenfell. The breakdown by nationality is very much typical of so many housing estates these days: The Grenfell Tower fire resulted in 72 fatalities, with a significant majority of the victims being from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic (BAME) backgrounds. Specifically, 85% of the residents who died were from BAME communities, according to a report cited by Inside Housing. Among the victims, there were people from the Middle East, North Africa, East and West Africa, Bangladesh, the Caribbean, the Philippines, and Colombia. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Middle East and North Africa: 32 victims. East Africa: 9 victims. West Africa: 5 victims. Bangladeshi heritage: 5 victims. Caribbean: 3 victims. Other: 1 Filipino, 1 Colombian, and 1 with unknown BAME heritage. White British or Irish: 7 victims. The Grenfell Tower Inquiry also noted that many of the residents were first-generation immigrants, with origins spanning various countries.

"Brace yourself. I am a full time wheelchair user - not ambulatory at all. I get PIP and I work. PIP has nothing to do with ability to work, but the level of disability. It is not means tested. I get no means tested benefits. My PIP helps pay for my carer and adapted vehicle, which in turns mean I can continue to work and live in my privately rented flat. Take away the PIP I lose the car, can't afford the carer, will not be able to work and then not afford the rent. I'd be homeless. Without the car, I will become housebound, unable to work and will be reliant on benefits for income. Take away the PIP the Local Authority will need house me, and fund the adult social carers. Stopping PIP is the wrong approach. Rant over. " Well said, it's not a rant but a genuine concern. The government are blind to this and don't care. I sincerely hope they stop the pip reform.
