Anyone booked a ticket yet for download 2026? I’ve never been as I overthink going by myself but wanted to see if anyone else is going that I can connect with to make it less daunting!

Having just found out what Download 2026 is, I can confirm that I have not booked a ticket and will not be booking a ticket for Download 2027 or any other Download festival in the future either.

I was at monsters of rock all those years ago too. Why on earth does anyone think it was better??

Yeah the band's were the bands. But it was only a 1 day event. The layout was haphazard. The facilities were a disaster. And yes I endured it all and enjoyed the event.

But to say it was preferable to what we have now is ridiculous. You obviously haven't been!

Early on there were plenty of things to be critical of, but it's evolved progressively. The biggest changes came when it was halted due to covid. They used the gap in events to totally rethink everything.

If you want to dwell on past history of the magical Monsters of rock, fine. But please don't diss Download, as you're deluded if you think MOR was better. It's 5 day festival of all levels of heavy and not so heavy music.

Stay home and reminisce all you want but some of us will have the best 5 days of music and merriment and meeting like minded rock/metal fans and making new friends
